So..

So in your opinion 30fps is the limit to play any game smoothly?
Thank you very much

I want to buy an 21.5" iMAC in 2-3 months and i wanna know if its worthy for the 650M.

Default will be 21.5" with fusion drive and 8 GB RAM, but dont know between

2.7 quad core with 640m or 2.9 quad core with 650m ? Does worth to save some money for the last one?

I think 30 FPS are reasonable for gameplay. I went with the 650M because I wanted the extra edge in gaming performance, and it performs well with the games I play. You don't buy a new machine everyday, so get one that will perform how you'd like it to, but if money's an issue, then the base 21.5" is fine.

Ok so im thinking of buying an imac for everyday general use and casual gaming but would it be a really big difference and better option if i would go for the 27 inch gtx660m or is the gt 650m still a well performing machine for casual gaming and general use.
Also if i were to go with the 21.5 inch gt 650m would it also make it a bigger difference in gaming if were to choose the I7 model or is the I5 just fine?

I had the 27" fully maxed out, 32GB RAM, fusion, i5 and 680MX

It was too big and I didnt like the feel of the large screen.

Sent it back and got a fully maxed out 21.5" with i7

Gaming seems fine. Not really difference in speeds that I can tell but a hardcore gamer running FPS games might want the 680MX long term.

maxed out 21.5 late 2012, running Team Fortress 2 within os x on 1080p, everything on high, dont know the exact frame rate but its as smooth as they eye can see.

It's "Couldn't Care less"

RAHAGAHGSHAGSHAGSHAGHAGSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am no word Nazi but my GOD this annoys the $&#* out of me for some reason.

Actually, both are correct. Couldn't care less is used in Aust, UK, NZ, SA etc.
Could care less is used in North America mainly.

Although if we are being rectally challenged about it, the yank usage actually makes no sense. In that case LachlanH... I'm with you!!! Burn em at the stake!!!

Thank, but would upgrading to the I7 make it a very better difference interms of gaming, editing, etc. Or is the I5 fine for all of that

Gaming and day-to-day usage - you'll see no difference. Rendering videos, editing in Photoshop etc, you will.

So someone tried some games lately on imac 21.5"" with 650m ?
Some opinions..settings/fps

Additionally, can anyone try the game Il-2 Cliffs of Dover ( available only for WIndows) and report the results?

My New iMac21.5"

I got myself the 2012, 21.5", i5 2.9GHz, GT 650M, 16GB, 1TB Fusion. It is a great Benchmark, I now wish i got the i7. I wish how it would perform!

I just bought the Witcher 1 + 2 on Steam (50% reduced price until Friday!!) and wanted to ask how I should play part 2 to get the best performance? I have ordered a maxed out iMac 21.5". The games are compatible with OS X. Better play Witcher 2 on Boot Camp or directly on OS X? Would prefer the later, but which one gives a crispier performance?

Benchmark 3dmark, 3dmark11, and 3dmark vantage and tell us the graphics scores(not the overall scores which also count processor which is less important in this situation.)

I was under the impression it is slightly less than desktop 640

I wonder how good Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 runs on 650m at native res, Med-high settings? I'm hoping for an average of 60 FPS.

Clearly the US usage is incorrect then if it doesn't make logical sense? :p

WE WANT BENCHMAKERS FOR 650M pleaaase

I've been gaming effectively with the 650M since December. I game in BootCamp and on Steam, and so far every game has been playable including the Witcher 2 and Hitman: Silent Assassin. Don't get too caught up with benchmarks, the 21.5" iMac is fine for gaming. If you want jaw-dropping performance with all the eye candy at max resolution, then get the 27" with the 680MX. I keep the graphic settings on high, and lower the resolution on some of the very demanding games i.e., Witcher 2, Alan Wake, Hitman, Max Payne 3.

So can you play those games on 1920*1080 everything in medium-high? If you get at least 30 fps its fine for me for those kind of games.
In starcraft 2 i guess you should have at least 50-60fps or in any pvp game.

What settings do you have in Witcher 2 and Alan Wake. How are the FPS for these games (maybe Skyrim too)?

Has anyone played Diablo III on the new 21.5" iMac with 650m? Would be interested to see how it performs in bootcamp/windows 7

Also interested in:
WoW
BF3

Thanks!

I hope you got the answers today :d i hope my 21.5 will come in 1-2 weeks max. And if they don't answer to you, i will :D
