Have you ordered a new 5K iMac from Apple's online store?

If the answer is yes, please help us all out by adding your information to this thread. Even if you have already received your order, it will help us to get the big picture if you post your details. I'm especially interested in hearing from people who ordered the base model, or configurations with the i5 and/or M290X.

I am collecting all of this data in a spreadsheet over at Google:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pj-L-iwbRDIX4_ZUtsQZtySYovN0gIWISOzTF0xPb6k/edit?usp=sharing

Please post using the following template:

Configuration: i7, 8GB, 256GB SSD/1TB Fusion, M295X
Selected Shipping Option: Standard or Expedited
Available Time to Ship: 2-3 days, 5-7 days, 7-10 days, etc.
Date/Time Ordered: Oct 28 11:18 JST
Delivery (from Order Status): Nov 23 - 28

You can list the time in your local timezone, but please mark it as such. Or you can use UST.

Here's a blank one:

Configuration:
Selected Shipping Option:
Available Time to Ship:
Date/Time Ordered:
Delivery (from Order Status):

And if you have received it already, add this section too:

Processing Items:
Preparing for Shipment:
Shipped:
Carrier/Estimated Delivery:
Received:

For example:

Processing Items: Oct 24
Preparing for Shipment: Oct 28, at 12:12 pm PDT
Shipped: Oct 29, at 12:23 am PDT
Carrier/Estimated Delivery: FedEx. Nov 3, by 8 pm PST
Received: Nov 3

Note that you can also just comment this stuff on the spreadsheet and I will add it in there directly.

Goals: I'd like to find out the reason for the delay, and we may well be able to do so if we have the right data, i.e. the configurations people have chosen, the dates of the order, and so on. Figuring out the reason for the delay may make it a little harder to bear. At least we'd know what's going on.

Thanks for your cooperation!

I'm afraid it seems unlikely. What has been happening is that when your order reaches its first due date they extend it, and send you an e-mail around the same time.

henriquede81, you've been really unlucky by the looks of things. The cancellation of your order has moved you to a spot in the queue just past the last known shipments. I really feel for you.

Yep, I'm feeling unlucky but also very disappointed because the only outcome I've from all the support emails and phone calls is: "We're sorry for that!"

In the meantime I'm setting up a Win/Linux desktop alternative cutting-edge (by myself) to plug with a 4K monitor... In the next days I'm going to figure out if I'm actually saying bye-bye Apple going back to the Linux field, after all these many many many happy Apple years in the past.

Hi Guys....

Got my email yesterday evening as well. Was meant to be delivered this week but a fortnight delay now as well :(

Yeah, I just woke up to the bad news too. I moved from processing to Preparing for Shipment, but the delivery date slid from 21-26 Nov all the way to 5-9 Dec.

Not impressed, Apple. Not impressed at all.
