While mining away in the Barrens (World of Warcraft) my 16 month old son didn't endear himself to daddy too much when he hit the power strip switch and shut off the machine.

After extracating him from under my desk and getting him set up in the other room I turned back on the power strip and now my iMac won't boot up!!

On the line with Apple at the moment. I must say their webchat thing is pretty cool and the guy that I worked with typed fast and wasn't too stupid about it and described what to do rather easily. Waiting in line for a product specialist now.

Bummer. I fired it up in target mode and copied off my photos, just don't have enough disk space on an internal drive to back up my iTunes. guess i'll be buying that copy of iPodRip if I have to save things from my fully sync'd iPod.

To get all the songs off my fully synced ipod when i bought my new imac G5 i used a App called 'Senuti' which was really great (although did take about an hour) and copied everything over. Quite a stable app as well.

Indeed, there are soo many apps that do exactly this :)

Trekkie, try heading over to iPodlounge.com - they have lists of apps that do this and stuff like that :)

Everyone else i have seen seems to have there package sent on the same day that there flight gets booked????
Why is it taking sooooo long.

Nevermind. I think I found the thread with the most replies. It took me about 30 minutes of searching, but I think I hit on this one. All in time for Apple's first update to this gorgeous Mac. :D

Sadly Apple hasn't announced the Rev. B of the iMac G5 yet. Sure hoping that we will hear something in the next month.

Over 2,780+ Posts and 110 Pages, on a thread from September 2004 about iMac G5s being released.

WOW. Shouldnt we like, start a NEW thread about iMac G5 Rev B?

iMac G5s came out in September, over 7 months ago. And this thread is still active. AND HUGE.

Your Avatar is certainly very appropriate. I was thinking something similar. But the threads here are started by MacRumors. So no new, means no new thread.

Looking at the length of this thread compared to other product announcements there never will be an Apple computer built with the popularity of the iMac! I love my iMac. I knew there was rumors of new ones coming back in February when I bought mine, but I am so glad I made the purchase. Long live the iMac!

I'm still happily chugging away with my iMac. Other than when my baby boy crawled under desk and hit the surge protect off switch and corrupted the hard drive I've had no problems. Doesn't help to have a UPS if you plug a strip into it that has blinky lights for a 19 month old to smack at.

Appleinsider reports iMacs/eMacs might be shipping this week!

I'll believe it when I finally order it. I've been waiting since the iMac G5 was first introduced last sept. I just hope this comes true!

What does michael jackson have to do with this thread??

got my 20" imac g5 today. a day earlier than the fedex tracking site said it should have arrived. shipped from Sacremento to Champaign, IL in 4 days via fedex ground. nice surprise.

this screen is huge! i've been using a 15" p-book for the past year as my main machine. the extra screen space is a welcome addition to my desk. it's also nice to have a real keyboard again. though it'll take some getting used to.

just added two 1gig crucial ram sticks and moved all my files and applications over from my p-book. so far so good. everything is working just fine.

i hope everyone gets their new machines soon.

Bob
