It appears Apple charged my credit card on Sunday. For $2,087.80 (This better be a dang good computer!). But, I haven't received anything from them yet. I assume maybe tommorrow. Still, I find it odd that they bill me and then don't let me know two days later. Not fun on a credit card with a small limit.

Are you sure it's not a pre-authorization of the money on your cc?

You will get an internal BlueTooth module. "No BlueTooth" simply refers to the fact that you are not ordering BlueTooth seperately, but as part of a package with a keyboard and mouse.

Cheers Mate, now all have have to do is wait untill 11 october for it :(.

I guess it could be, but I'm not sure why they would do that 2 weeks after the order. Also, they have already shipped three of the things from the same order (Printer, Airport Extreme, Airport Express). I hope that is not the case, I guess I will find out soon. If that is the case though then they are jerks because they haven't credited it back yet!

Early pre-authorization

My credit union called me 9/2 to check on an "unusually large" order amount made at 3:04 A PST...several items from Apple, including the big charge of $2,023, plus four other items (got AE, some DVDs, cable kit and Office). Yes, that was me, I told her.

So Apple checked and got pre-authorization 12 days ago...but no email yet.

I...must...be...patient...arrrgggghhhhhh.

Anybody in the Great White North get a shipped status?
In Northwestern Ontario - not yet, driving me crazy though - I ordered at about 9am on the 31st. Out of curiousity, does Apple only update the shipped statuses in the morning, or all throughout the day?

I got my FedEx #'s today 9/ 14. It's coming from Shanghai China. I ordered it on 8/31/04 and am only getting 1 GB ram. I popped for the fast shipping. So it is coming on the fast plane from China. I wish it was built in Taiwan. I hope I am not a ginny pig for a new production facilities bad quality control

My guess is that they will start updating late in the evening as 6:30 PM Central Time is 7:30 AM tomorrow in China. That means that 6:30 AM Wednesday for me will be 7:30 PM in China and the day is probably wrapped up as far as shipment notifications go. After that it is only FedEx that will be updating.

FedEx now say's my 20" iMac G5 has made it from Shanghai to Anchorage !

:)

Just a couple short hops to Southern California !!!

I'm really excited for all you folks hovering over the FedEx page, refreshing every 5 minutes [or less] to see if the sucker is getting any closer. I remember feeling surgically attached to the internet waiting for my PB to arrive.
There aren't many things as fun as waiting for that box to arrive. Well, maybe watching my son being born was a close second :D

My iPod was built in China and shipped from Shanghai. No problems so far!

BTW, I'm waiting for shipping of a 20" CTO to Canada, and order is still open... (hey Arn, with all those readers waiting for Power Macs, iMacs, NVIDIA cards etc, maybe you should add a fingernail biting smilie :D).

The only way I could get a delivery date was to go to the apple store page, click on "my order" and track it by clicking on the tracking number (delivery date 9/16 by 10:30 AM). If I track it through Fed Ex's website, it does not give me a delivery date. I had standard shipping on my computer. :)

Hope that helps

I officially qualify as slow here, but I can't find "my order" on store.apple.com.

Any help, please? Being obsessive on this, I'd love to find a ship date as well.

Thanks.

Little signs of hope...

Ordered 8/31 am - 20 in BTO, Airport Express Base Station, Apple Care.

Selected "ship only when all items are available." From 8/31 until 5 minutes ago they ALL said "on or before 9/29".

Now it has changed to "ship items SEPARATELY as they become available" (I haven't done anything that would have changed it). Now Applecare says "on or before 9/17", Airport Express Base Station "on or before 9/15", and 20 in BTO "on or before 9/29".

I wonder if this means my BTO is about to be released, and they are sending the other things (which aren't coming from China like the iMac) to arrive at the same time.

...must...get...a...life...

...but it will be hard to stop checking Apple Order Status / FedEx every five minutes until it gets here...

douglasio, where is your iMac being shipped to? I live about 15 miles south of Harrisburg, PA. Still, there's no sign of my iMac shipping yet.

It's heading on over to Mystic Connecticut (south-eastern part of the state). I've been checking FedEx regularly but it hasn't changed at all from "Departed FedEx sort facility" in Harrisburg PA. The last entry was at 11:33 this morning, so it probably will have been updated by the time I wake up tomorrow morning (I hope).

Maybe the tracking is vague because it was ordered with the free shipping thing.

Have you noticed that you are watching your mail and the little red circle shows up letting you know that you have e-mail and you think "MAYYE THIS IS IT!!!" and it turns out to be another e-mail from Arn letting us know that there is another post about iMacs shipping and you then KNOW that someone ELSE has received their shipment notification from Apple and you're still WAITING? :(

Go to http://www.apple.com then click the Store tab. At the top of that page, there are five items just below the tabs. The next-to-last one says 'Order Status', go for that one.

Enter your Apple ID and password . . . cross your fingers. For more info, click the 'Details' button.

Good luck.

I did the same as you - ordered the accessories to only be shipped when all items were available. Now, the accessories I ordered are listed to ship "on or before 9/15", although my BTO 20" is still listed as "on or before 9/30". And like yours, the shipping has been changed to "Items shipped separately as they become available." Are the accessories being shipped tomorrow because they are shipping from a different location than the iMac? Or is the factory in Shanghai doing a run of 20" BTOs as we speak? Stay tuned for the next exciting episode of... "Days We Need Lives".

Edit -> Refreshed the order status page, and accessories reverted to "on or before 9/30", but refreshed it again, and they were "on or before 9/15" again. Weird!

Jealous

MY 20 is somewhere over Alaska Now! Fedex says the 16th at 10:30 for estimated delivery date. Im hoping for the 15th...but I can wait the extra day...NO I CAN'T...refresh, refresh, refresh!!!

Strange - I just noticed the same thing on my order. I had a BTO 20 incher with .Mac promo thrown in for good measure. I had selected to have them ship together and up until now they were on or before 9/29. Now the .Mac says on or before 9/15 with the iMac still 9/29 and the order is changed to ship separately.

I'm giddy waiting!!! :D

This worries me:
IMAC G5 17/1.8/256/80/SD/56K/100-120-USA
M9250LL/A
$1,799.00

1 Shipped 09/13/2004

It is in Anchorage right now, but anyone notice the problem?
I ordered the 20 inch, the Model number is for a 20 inch, the price is the 20 inch edu price(which it should be)... but, the description says it is the 17 inch... I'm slightly worried.

FedEx says it will be here 9/16(Thursday) by 10:30am.. :fingers crossed:
