UPS is SO frustrating. For the second day in a row, they’ve lied that they’re delivering. So it looks like it’ll be here tomorrow — Apple’s ETA from 2 weeks back.
Placed my order today. i9 10 core, 8GB of RAM, 4TB SSD, 5700XT video, 10gig ethernet. I scored 128GB of RAM for $400 from HyperX (Kingston). Estimated ship September 14-21.

Got mine delivered! Installed the 64 GB of RAM( removed the stock 8 GB) and restoring from time machine now.

I received my stock 2020 iMac (with numeric keyboard and touch pad) today but I noticed that there was a double seal tape on the outside brown box, is this normal or has this unit been tampered with / returned?
The seal on the inside iMac box looks good but seeing to replaced tape on the outside box has raised concerns.
FWIW it came from Netherlands, delivered to UK.
What do you think?

I got the dreaded Exception on UPS. Left dublin IE to Koeln DE on. 08/19/2020 now I have Exception: Package will be forwarded to a UPS Facility in the destination city? What does that mean?
Mine has arrived. It looks like the cardboard box got rained on but it seems to be working fine. Now I cannot for the life of me get safari working with iCloud Keychain. None of my passwords are syncing. I'm going a little crazy trying to figure it out. I hate iCloud syncing issues.
Everything is all setup. I am seeing about a 35% boost in X-Plane 11 performance over my 2019 iMac with the Vega 48. Got Windows 10 installed on the machine( much easier than last year cause it installed the keyboard and mouse drivers correctly this time.... ). I just have to reinstall a few more things on the Windows side and I am back up and running. Just need to wait for iStat Menu's on the MacOS side and Mac Fan Control on the Windows side to update their apps to restore functionality(I don't want to game on the Windows side without the ability to manually control the fan). Happy to see though that idle temps for the 2020 are pretty much the same as the 2019.
Next step is to wipe the 2019 and get it ready to give it to the parents.
Guess it is time to sign off this thread since my journey is complete here.

The iMacs (fully assembled or just the back shells with some internals installed) are shipped from China directly to customers or to Cork for BTO, or to Apple warehouses, etc. The iMacs are shipped from China inside their "show boxes" (the white box with the picture) which are shipped inside the brown boxes. This just saves space for Apple and allows them to reduce packaging. The brown boxes are opened and resealed by Apple, in my case using a strip of packing tape. I wouldn't be concerned, especially if the seal on the show box seems fine.
Same as the 2019 and 2013. Quiet when there is other white noise( HVAC, etc etc) but if there is no other white noise, can hear the air flow coming out of the vent.
I can't complain.
My cardboard box had been opened and re-taped too. The interior box was fine so I just rolled with it.
hahaha What!? That's pretty bad. I think you're being generous when you say is was just "opened and re-taped". 🤪 So long as the pretty box is still...pretty.
It’s been rainy as hell here. Just torrential at times. The inner box was fine so I’m ok with it.
