Oh and there is quite a few other things... now that I started digging... like dark airpods... In a @3x resolution!

This beauty is probably gonna pack W1 chip as well. This could be what pairing icons will look like in case you have dark menu bar and dock turned on and you pair the AirPods.

Surely professionals should have their mac book pro on a dock/stand and be using external keyboard and mouse...?

I for one am really happy that Apple decided to put the MacBook Pro label back where it belongs! It's the place where it always has been and where it always should be, IMO.

Needless to say, I'm very happy I sold my late-2013 13" rMBP last month for a great price. Can't wait for the event!

If you value typing speed and accuracy it'll be a huge productivity plus, for "professional" and non-professional alike.

How can you type fast and accurately on the MB keyboard?

I, for one, type blindly....it's really hard with the MB keyboard because the keys are so thin, you don't know where they start and end, and them not having any key travel doesn't help, either

Sloppy, Apple, very very sloppy. Then again, we've kind of come to expect that from you in recent years.
I couldn't care less for the touch bar, I feel it might well end up being a pain in the ass for badly implemented contextual menus/buttons in certain apps (looking at you, Microsoft!). What is really interesting is what will be inside.
I'm guessing it will be Intel only for all but the biggest 15" configuration, which might get a meager middle range AMD chip, like an M460. If the 5k external display with its own GPU makes it, there will no longer be dedicated GPUs in any of their laptops at all anymore.

If you have an iPad an used a keyboard with it, none of this functionality is new. I guess you can do whatever you can do on a Mac on an iPad pro. The buttons change. Great.

Umm no, had a rMB for over a month and tried to get used to the keyboard when keying in charts. Gave it to my wife for a facebook machine after my month trial was over. I guess the hipsters are cool with it, but I grew up on Alps keyswitch IBM/Apple keyboards and the current rMB's keyboard is atrocious. No way I'm getting the new rMBP 15 if it has the exact same keyboard as the rMB. Looking forward to firesale 2015 rMBP 15 prices...

I didn't say it's a better keyboard. I just meant people will adapt. They'd either jump ship to Windows, or stick with macOS and live with it.

The details are very nice.
Can someone explain me where is the on/off button?
Isn't there a need for a physical button?

my guess is that the touch ID sensor doubles as a physical power button (no I don't think touch ID is built into the OLED screen or they would display the touch ID logo on the spot you're supposed to place your finger, instead of using an arrow off to the side). I question this though because an unlabeled power button is sure to cause lots of new users headaches when trying to figure out how to turn the thing on.

so either that, or they've relocated the power button off to the side of the macbook. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And here it comes again. Can't you all just enjoy the moment?

Do you complain when given a Christmas present that it wasn't what you wanted?

I like the speakers on either side of the keyboard and just hope they knocked at least a half a pound off the current 13" MBP.

Not complaining, just hoping they managed to get the OLED & Touch ID working using a ARM processor :p

I'm a bit skeptical of this new OLED bar.

How many folks look down at their keyboard when doing work? I do a lot of typing and I rarely do.

So Apple brings about a feature where I have to look at my keyboard down from the screen to use something and I can't use muscle memory to hit the ESC key but be afraid that I may hit the *wrong* thing?

I'm not sure how good of an idea this is, will need to use it for a while to see if it's going to increase productivity or just get in the way.

You’re making working assumptions based off a static picture? It reminds me of the iPhone release forums – “no way, you mean I have to scroll with my finger all the way down to ZZ Top from ABBA?”

You can see the "ESC" button, just that it says "Cancel" which is what escape usually does. The fn button seems to be there at the bottom, so that will do something.
1) That's not a button.
2) Probably just for the transaction.
3) Not even in the same position.
4) Fn button has other uses on a Mac keyboard than the Function keys, such as accessing Page Up, Page Down, Home, End, Delete, etc.
