This started happening to me just BEFORE I upgraded to 7.0.2 and continued after the upgrade. It's been happening at least once a day. I thought it was just me because I was in some areas of spotty service/wifi, but now that I'm home its the same thing with really strong service. Restarting works, but its extremely annoying.

Kinda wish MR would post an article about this since it seems a little more important that people claiming to get motion sick from subtle animations....

I've been restarting like a boss since the latest update just to be able to send messages reliably and it makes me cry a little, on the inside of course.

Restarting the phone, resetting the Network Settings are all temporary solutions. Apple needs to fix this ASAP! I understand that no product is perfect and the same can be said about all OS's but when iMessage is such a big part of iOS you'd think that Apple would have ironed this out before releasing iOS 7.0.2! smfh

Fix for this issue!

For all having issues sending or recieving iMessages. Set your DNS in Wifi settings to 8.8.8.8. This fixed the issue on my iPad 2,1. (Not my fix, thank a poster on the Apple Support Forums)

I'm having the same problem

I have an iPhone 4S on AT&T and I'm still on iOs 7, have not upgraded to 7.02 yet and my imessages rarely work.

The failed iMessages don't even go through as text messages. It's very frustrating.

Yes, a reboot worked, but only temporarily. I've rebooted my phone twice today for this.

As above posted, try using Google's DNS.

Settings > Wi-Fi > Click the (i) on the right of your Wi-Fi SSID > Go down and change DNS to 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4

My dad's iPhone had issues with both iMessage and FaceTime. I tried all kinds of fixes, without success.

What finally worked was to backup the iPhone in iTunes, then do a complete restore from that backup. Needless to say it took some time to try, but it fixed the issue for him.

I personally am not having this issue, but my roommate was yesterday and today. Dunno why this is. It works perfectly on our computers (we both have MacBooks) but not on his phone. Mine on 6.1.4 works fine.

I had to reboot my iphone and ipad, both have been fine since.

I get stuck on "sending" about once a day via imessage. Have to restart the phone each time to correct it. (AT&T Iphone 5)

Hmm...come to think of it, I didn't notice it until I upgraded to 7.0.2....interesting...

Interesting. I'll give that a try now. Thanks!

Works only for a few minutes...I'd hate to lose all of my wifi networks again if I do a network reset...I wish there was a way to save them so you can restore... :(

Anybody have any luck with the Google DNS? Makes me a little nervous to change the DNS to Google :p

Seems like there's a MacRumors front page story today that might be related: https://www.macrumors.com/2013/09/3...tings-may-fix-imessages-not-working-in-ios-7/

Touché. The article links to here if you click on "complaining". :D glad they posted it.

An "universal" way to fix iMessage issues is to turn iMessage and FaceTime off and sign out on all devices and then reset/restart all devices and then sign in/turn on iMessage and FaceTime on one device at a time. Before my Mac wouldn't reliably receive and when it sends, wouldn't reliably sync to my iPhone or iPad. But once you kind of "reset" iMessages/FaceTime on ALL devices, it should work without any problems.

This has caught me out. Sent a number of texts to quite a few people and obviously none have recieved them.

iPad seems to be working ok though. Both my iPhone and iPad on iOS 7.0.2.

this is f'ed up. If I send iMessage to my @me.com or my apple id email, it formats as a MMS/SMS. It never did this before.

What the hell is going on at Apple these days?
10.8.5 update kills HDMI sound after waking from sleep. Restart is the only option to get sound back.
iMessage glitch, cannot send messages as iMessage, reverts to sending as text.
iMessage not syncing between iPhone, iPad and Macbook Pro.

This is getting stupid. Someone should speak with Craig Federrighi or whatever his name is and figure this **** out!!

this used to work and I would do this periodically, but it seems to no longer work anymore. Trust me, I've signed out of Imsg and FT plenty of times since iOS 7.

Things are messed up and Apple is ignoring them.

It worked for me... Also, I don't have any problems with HDMI audio.
