Second server started working for about half an hour last night up until I received somebody else's SIRI response (it was in German and completely unrelated to my request) After that it became unresponsive to my questions and eventually went back to "I'm really sorry about this" since then on any server I try.

Any other update guys?? I installed early evening yesterday, siri still giving "i'm sorry" So frustrated right now...

When setting the proxy hosts on the Spire settings, you just put the address and hit back right?? Is there anything else you have to do to change servers??

I'm in the same boat. But I think there is a bigger unexpected issue they are trying to work out. Probably has something to do with apple catching on...

Just make sure you have all three certificates installed and you can switch between the 3 proxy addresses as you please.

With me, I gave it one last swing and bought "lifetime" access to Siri from uhelios, haven't heard back from them yet but am expecting to some time today.

I can say this, Apple wasn't messing around with Siri. They wanted to make sure that it only works on the 4S and are doing everything they can to keep it that way. It's justified, sure. But it's also a little crazy if you ask me. I would think Siri is "just a program" and would work on any device running iOS 5 once installed but Apple took it to a whole new level.

I think we're getting close to cracking Siri completely, we've come quite a ways since it was first being experimented with on "non-native" iPhones. It could only be a matter of time but in all honesty...I have a gut feeling it's not going to function as intended until Apple says so (in other words, officially release it either by App Store or in a firmware update for all).

I hate having to depend on other people's servers, as there is too many variables that will interfere. Plus, everything you say to Siri can be read/heard by the people running them. But such is the only way for now.

Got it working yesterday and it's still working today. Only one of the three servers worked for me. I couldn't get the other two working, but that's fine for me.

I bought access to their proxy a couple days ago before it became really popular and I have had no trouble with the reliever server. I am located in the great state of OHIO and the only time I couldn't get it to work was when they brought it down to update it. I use it about 15+ times a day and it works every time.

Just tried ALL 3 servers and they are working great for me. Very fast.

By Apple making Siri exclusive to only to 4S is a significant differentiator between 4S and 4. Apple want to make sure people go out and buy the 4S rather than stay with the 4.

I have a horrible feeling that Apple will add Siri to the iPad 3, but then only make it available to the iPhone 4 when IOS 6 is released. Just so it gives the 4S exclusivity for a year.

Just my thoughts

I have uninstalled Spire as it seemed to slow my phone down too much. Not really sure what it was as the battery life didn't seem to be affected, but I've had my iphone 4 jailbroken since the first iphone4 jailbreakme.com JB and it's never been this slow. Everything just lagged slightly and even with fakeclockup animations would pause/lag halfway through when switching apps or starting apps.

Uninstall and everything seems normal again.

Spire does use up a lot of ram in iPhone 4. You have to always make sure you have plenty of ram. That's a huge downside for spire.

Isn't Spire just an installer that installs Siri directly from Apple? Thats what chpwn has said.

Yea I suspected as much. iphone4s has the same amount of ram, maybe the combination of faster ram and processor negate the difference. I may try seeing if having it installed and siri disabled speeds it back so I can just use it while driving or something when I don't care as much about speed as I do convenience.

Basically from what I understand it's that plus a little code to use a proxy server (Not sure if thats actually running via mobile substrate, or just a way to modify com.apple.assistant.plist to point at the proxy)

It's so weird how mine works 100% of the time and other people can't get theirs to work at all. Right now RevThunder is working great for me.

I think it is best to keep try non-stop at 4:30pm est. I got mine working on the second server around 4:30 yesterday. Today, I got the other two working at 4:30 pm again today. I guess 4:30 pm is the magic moment

It has been two days for me without any server working...

I guess you only can keep trying. Once I got mine working, it always work 100%. The other two servers are very unstable to me now. I guess I'll have to stick with the second server

When mine worked it was with the 2nd server (closest to me as well) and I only got one of the other servers to respond exactly one time.

I live in NYC, so the first server should be the closest to me, but only the second server is responding 100% of the time.

So I'm browsing my phone with iFile and I've come to realize that in my "Assistant" folder, there is no com.apple.assistant.plist file. Isn't that absolutely necessary in order for Siri to work? So I went through the whole process all over again, uninstalled everything that has to do with Siri and even deleted the Assistant folder afterwards (knowing a new one would be created again). So I turned off Siri, deleted all certificates, rebooted, removed Spire, rebooted again and then reinstalled Spire, the certs, and finally the proxies. Still no com.apple.assistant.plist

Pretty bad luck for me, as it appears my phone will never have Siri functionality. I'm $35 poorer, and basically feel like a dumbass for even trying any of this. Take this lesson far into life - a fool and his money are soon parted.

Mine started working perfect yesterday afternoon on the 2nd server. They must have fixed a few things.

They just posted that they found the problem and are emailing the fix to all affected.

The fix is out and it works!! Got the plist file and all is good :)
