I ordered an iPhone 11 Pro for pick up and had a check in time and everything and I just got an email saying there’s been a “logistical issue” ... anyone else get this email?

If you have a local store and the time, see if you could walk in and grab the one you want. Sucks when you’re excited for something and then have to wait, but not the end of the world.
 
It involves two separate shipments. The store inventory comes from local distribution centers where the inventory was shipped from China a few days ago. The individual pick up orders were shipped from China just now.

That’s why you never or should never see an Apple Store have zero demo units or zero walk in stock.
I talked to one of my regular UPS Driver who happens to be on the route delivering apple shipments to the Apple Store and he told me that he delivered a bit over 2000 iPhone 11/Pro/Pro Max on Tuesday. But he also said that on Friday he still has to deliver each individual one that was for the customer who did the in-store pick up.

But even if he did deliver them on Tuesday, Apple Store in my area usually secure those till launch day. I'm certain they do receive model units early on, they just can't put it on till after store closing on Thursday, in preparation for the launch day.

Thanks for filling in the picture with more details. It’s this reason why I advocate cancelling a delayed online order and just walking in to buy in-store inventory on launch day.
 
Store in Ann Arbor, Michigan had people who preordered the midnight green not get them in yet. Kind of glad I went with space gray at this point.

I ordered the silver iPhone 11 Pro Max and I received the same email. I have an afternoon pickup time so I'm hoping that it will be ready.
 
I’m in Pittsburgh and got this message for my watch. When picking up my phone I was told it was a UPS issue. I bought an in stock watch but got one without cellular which is fine - was on the fence about which model to get. I was also able to recycle my watch at the store which I thought we couldn’t do this year.
 
I would still go and see if you can cancel your current order and take one home. I’m sure they have stock.
I was hoping this too but can't go in until after work for 730-8p. Don't see there being anymore green by then.

Weather elsewhere in the chain is what the logistics would probably refer to.
Maybe the phones were supposed to travel through Texas?

We don't have any tracking because we are in store pickup. Only the W order. I am PA so I don't know why they would have to go through TX.
 
I had this happen last year, shipment got delayed and I was in the first pickup time slot of the day. I ended up going there anyway and they just gave me the same phone that was reserved for someone else in a later time slot. Guess they knew the shipment was coming in soon. They could also just give you a phone out of the walk-in stock. I know it took a little longer than normal because they had to switch the serial number of the reserved phone but it wasn’t a big inconvenience.
Hope this is the case when we go to get my wife's in the same slot my Green was supposed to be in. Problem is we are 730-8p. But hopefully another shipment arrives by then, and I get the ready for pickup email before our slot.
 
My wife had a 10:00a - 10:30a pick up window today at the NYC 5th Ave store. Not surprisingly she's still in line and it's near 1P. She said the store is overrun with people, lines, etc.

Also, today is the grand re-opening of the 5th Ave. store so chaos was expected. Apparently Tim Cook is there today. My wife also said that they were filming a commercial which has added to the delays.

She has been told however that she will get her phone but clearly this is taking longer than expected.
 
The Apple Store in Nashua, NH had zero walk-in stock available - pre-orders only. Most stores do have walk-in stock, but you can't always count on it.
 
Yea we have the same situation, but our store is only like fifteen minutes away. And why do some stores cancel and some will hold for two weeks???

It did not happen to me. I picked up my midnight green 512 gb sim fee pro max with apple clear case and belkin installed before lunch smoothly.
 
Saw earlier you said you're in PA, not Lehigh Valley store is it? That's the one where I'm delayed currently. But a friend went this morning, no pre-order, and grabbed a silver pro max 512GB, which is delayed for me. Makes no sense.
Yea Lehigh Valley Mall. Wow that's two other people on here going to that store. Issue for me is I can't go until after work for 730-8p and don't know that they will have any green left by then. I don't mind paying for more capacity as long as it is still green.

Yeah, my check-in window is 7:30-8PM as well.

Yeah, my check-in window is 7:30-8PM as well. My significant others phone is ready, so I'll have to be there anyway. I'm gonna be pretty angry if they don't have my order, when I know for a fact they sold the exact model I am getting earlier in the day. I just don't want to have to drive again tomorrow or Sunday, and worse if it's next week because my work schedule is insane.
Wow that's extra weird now. Same slot and my wife's is also ready.
 
Hello! I had pre-ordered a 256GB iPhone 11 Pro Max (silver) and got the same delay e-mail at 2:39AM this morning. I did the text-chat with Apple today and the rep said I could try anyway at the store. I got there during my pickup window (11:30am-12pm), was successfully checked in, waited on the line, and then got to see a store rep. She said "oh, this looks like an exception, be right back" and then came back and told me that it's an internal issue they're working through. She said it could be 15 minutes or a few hours, but she personally took my phone number down and said she'd call if/when it becomes available. She said it should definitely be today, but I'm kind of skeptical as of right now. Luckily I'm able to work remotely so I'm working at a co-working space nearby, hoping to get the notification. I tried text-chat with Apple again and they abruptly said it's a retail store issue and that I should call them for any updates. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Oh, also strange: the in-store rep who told me I couldn't get my phone because of an issue looked at the order and said, "Oh I see you added Apple Care, we will be able to offer a case or a screen protector" and I couldn't tell if she meant offer for free b/c of the delay, or in addition to the original purchase. But I'll blame myself for being awkward and not clarifying :)

Hi! I pre-ordered a 256GB iPhone 11 Pro (Space Gray) and received the same email. Just drove over to the Apple Store (Tice's Corner Woodcliffe Lake) and they said my phone is still in transit to be delivered so it's not even at the store. Hoping it gets in today before the store closes otherwise it's most likely tomorrow.

FWIW, Apple Support said it still showed a delivery day of today for my phone but I'd need to confirm with the store. There was a line out the door of people waiting and plenty of people pissed walking around the parking lot. So much for pre-ordering exactly at 5am PST.

Just checked in here at the Burlington store to pick up my iPhone 11 Max 512 gb space gray AT&T and was told they haven’t received it yet. I’ll get an email when they do, asked if they had any in a different color and was told they they didn’t have any for sale.
