I have a 9.30 pick up time and was told I could go earlier by the apple chat person but deep down was thinking that actually its all up to the store on the day.

I was told I HAD TO show up at the reservation time. If I showed up later no guarantee the phone would still be there.

Tomorrow is the Astros' World Series parade and I will now have to miss that...Thanks Apple!

Got my confirmation email for 8:30 - 9:00 am (my originally scheduled time). Clicked on the link in the email to add the pass to my Wallet, worked liked a charm.

Just need to backup my 7 Plus tonight and I'll be all good to go for tomorrow AM.
