If my order says ' no commitment ' does that mean I could pick up instead of wife. It was billed on my cc and Apple ID ?? Verizon is carrier.

They should have two separate lines for walk-in and pre-ordered. At least at Fifth Avenue there are two different lines, and they will ask you before you join either line.

Mine changed to ready for pick up a few hours ago. 
My pickup time is at 10, but I will likely get there at 9 in case they can squeeze me in early.

I'll take your word for it. Haven't watched baseball, well, ever really. Apparently not many people in my social media circles do either because I didn't even know the World Series was on until I saw someone post something about the Astros winning.
Yeah, I'm probably going to arrive around 6:30 or 7:00 because I'm a freak like that.
I'm planning to get there around 7 a.m. as well for my 8 a.m. pickup. I want to feel some of that anticipation energy (I've previously walked in for my phones).
16:21 CST, received email it’s ready! 130-2 pick up time. I have meetings at 830, then off to the Apple store! 256 SG, Att model
Happened to last year I still went at the time shown and while I waited in line the UPS guy delivered phones and within 5 mins my status changed
Got here at 7am and was first in the preorder line. Felt like VIP being escorted past the walk-in line snaking through and outside the mall and going straight to the empty preorder line.
Got back in line at 7:30am. Was number 9 in the preorder line. The line as so short I had my phones in had by 8:02am
I was 30min before my timeframe and had about 20 guys before me inline, went all fine and it was great experience! Especially watching the 100 of people in the other queue without preorder

Do you have to hang around and set it up or can you just grab and go? I'm used to home delivery and setting it up myself. I am guessing store delivery requires them to port your number to it where home delivery it comes ready to go.
