call apple at 1800-676-2275 they verified the order for me and made sure its for pick up.

But the question is, did your order originally show as "Delivery" and then they changed it to pickup? Or it was originally pickup, and they just confirmed it?

Btw I did try calling them, the automated recording said they're too busy... I'll try again soon

Ah I see! So just to be clear, your email confirmation said "Delivery" even though you chose pickup... and when you called them, they verified that it IS indeed pickup and not delivery?
 
In store pickup was unavailable for me, I had to settle for shipping...its ok I have work till 8 pm on Friday anyways.

store pick up went quick. I tried to order a second phone within a few mins and i wasnt able to do pick up.
 
No im sorry wrote that wrong. It said pick up not delivery.

Darn...yeah my email confirmation says "Delivery" even though I'm almost positive I chose pickup when I ordered. I'll still call Apple to see what's going on, but I'm starting to think it will end up being delivery (which I wanted to avoid due to problems in the past). Maybe they will be able to change it to pickup without delaying past launch date

Check the apple site if pick up is still a choice for your city. If it is then call them ASAP. They are able to chage it.
 
You won't be charged or a hold placed for in store pick up surely? On my confirmation email it says that if you don't turn up to collect the phone it will be returned to stock in the store - hence why they wouldn't place a hold on any funds?

How interesting. So I did that and checked online, and it says in-store pickup at my mall IS available. I wonder why it didn't work when I ordered? Anyways, I tried calling Apple but they seem to be overloaded with phone calls... it keeps saying to call back later. I'll keep trying, hopefully they can change it to pickup...

u have to select it twice when your ordering. you might have not selected pick up right before u summited the order.
 
I have my conformation email also for in store pickup and have no charges on my card. Does that mean I can still do the iPhone 5 trade in when I get there?

Call the store they might be able to assist you. Im not too sure how it works.

Some confirmation would be good. My interpretation is that you've not bought the phone but reserved it....not saying I'm right though you understand. I hope I am though as I wanted to use apple gift cards and another account to make the purchase (other than what I use for my iTunes).

Surely if we were paying upfront then payment details would have been required?
 
Dang it... I'm jealous of everyone that has "In-Store Pickup" stated in their email confirmation. I don't know how I messed up during my order process to make it delivery... hopefully Apple can change it before it's too late! If only their phone lines would open up...

When i ordered it took my payment info and card info.
