Likely because they may have received a big package. Friday night, Apple Hilldale updated in-store pick up stock availability. Which had 20 in stock. It did take a bit over 2 hours for that to deplete lolYes, most of the time they are only available for 2-3 minutes.
The 13 Pro Max Sierra Blue 256GB were available yesterday for quite a „long“ time .. about 30 minutes![]()

Yes, within minutes. I am considering returning my launch day PM (for a few issues) and repurchasing however I only have until Friday. Hoping I can score one during the week. I already sent my old 12 PM for trade in so would hate to be without a phone if I do not manage to get one.Yea they come and go really quick unfortunately.
Keep checking I'm sure it will pop up this week. My wife needs a new phone as her phone she use currently is a 7 Plus. I was able to find a Sierra Blue 256 GB Pro max sim-free and scored one for her. That as Friday night so picked it up Saturday morning.Yes, within minutes. I am considering returning my launch day PM (for a few issues) and repurchasing however I only have until Friday. I hope that is the case. In hindsight, I probably should of kept my 12 PM until after the 14 day return period just in case. Now I will be screwed without a backup if I don't have any luck. I did see 2 Sierra Blue PM today about an hour away from me but that is not the color I am after. At this point, I may have to be less worried about the color.Keep checking I'm sure it will pop up this week. My wife needs a new phone as her phone she use currently is a 7 Plus. If you have it in the case all the time, you won't notice the color. unless you have a clear case.I hope that is the case. I think this is the case. Just because apple.com shows that it's not available for pick up doesn't necessarily mean that they don't have any in stock. They do in fact have stock available for walk-in's and these are hidden from apple.comI also found walking in the store the reserve some for in store purchase !
How does that work? The last 2 iPhones I bought "at the Apple Store" I was buying unlocked versions on my Apple Card and they would not let me buy them at the store and put it on the Apple Card. I had to order it online in order to use my Apple Card and then pick it up at the store. They said this was only for the unlocked phones. So if any Apple store has any of this "walk-in stock", I can't get one anyway.I think this is the case. So this is really interesting as I pre ordered immediately when they opened and it turned out that I couldn’t make the appointment on release day, so I phone my local store the day before to ask what could be done and was told not to worry as they would 100% keep my order for 14 days, so that was good, except when I was able to get along finally to the store, I was told they 100% don’t hold them and it was released back into stock and was gone and that if I still wanted one then I could order one and wait till November, so that’s nice.If it was walk-in reservation, they should only hold it for certain amount of hours before releasing it back to stock availability rather than a few days or so. However that's different with apple online order that was paid for in-store pick up. Unfortunately they hold those for 14-21 days. Would be nice if it was shorter. lol
