I voted "a lot of nicks/scratches' but in truth, you can't really see them. I know there's a lot though.
I've had this phone for about a year.

3GS.

had IP4 since launch day and i've beaten the hell out of it because i have a square trade warranty so if it breaks i can get a new one.

Hasn't broken yet despite multiple naked drops on tile and concrete. IP4 is tougher than some would lead us to believe. But i'm sure if you hit it just right it will crack, in my experience it holds up well to normal usage/mild abuse.

Mine is flawless, there is an invisible shield on the screen and I used a cover since day one. I only dropped my iphone twice, luckily both times it was on thick carpet and the phone was in its cover.

Mine was doing fine until an intimate meeting with parking lot pavement.

My iPhone 4 is in perfect condition. Then again it's always been in a case except when I use it. I admit to being a bit OCD with my devices as it really annoys me if there are any nicks, scratches or cracks. More importantly I upgrade regularly and I want to make sure I can get the best price possible when I sell them.

I think mine's in perfect condition, having been in a case constantly and screen protectors on the back and front (okay, maybe that was going too far). But there's what looks like a little hole in the screen protector on the front, and I'm just hoping whatever did it didn't go through and scratch/crack the screen. It looks like it may just possibly have done. I'll take the protector off to look when I sell it. That's why I take so much care, I always sell them on afterwards.

Had mine for just over a year and not a single scratch on the screen. Although my bumper scratched up the sides pretty good.

I purchased my iPhone from a seller on Craigslist in pristine condition on 9/11 and it's been the same way every since.

The bumper scuffed my antenna something horrible, but it has saved the screen (and the phone probably - it might off been "bumped" on the floor once or twice).
