ah I see. Cut outs look a little questionable on that but looks like it would do the job.

How comfortable is this case to use in the book (folded over style)? I imagine the two rails on the back interfere a bit with the front cover when folded back. Is this the case?

Picked up one of these today at Best Buy. The big rubber nubs on the back don't bother me as much as I thought they would. However, I really don't like the elastic strap to hold the cover closed. Its very strong and tight, and I worry it will damage the cover. Also you can't use the elastic strap to hold the cover out of the way when you hold it like a book.

What I do like is how slim it is, as it barely adds any bulk while providing full protection to the back.

I've also ordered a cheap TPU case from eBay that is supposed to work with the smart cover. Hopefully that will do the same job as this and I can return the Incase.

Yea that strap is annoying plus with normal use Im pretty sure it will get all loose and floppy...

Can u measure the side and tell me how thick it is? Thank you. Debating this vs. Switch easy canvas

I hope someone can confirm these numbers, but...

Off a quick measurement, with the lid (we'll call it a flap) closed, I'm getting it at around half an inch thick. If you include the 2 bars, the two prop bars on the back, those add on about another 1/8 inch. So...5/8ths of an inch at its thickest.

The canvas is going to be thicker, but from what I can tell it's better quality. If you are looking for a thin alternative, I would probably choose the STM Skinny over this.

Yea, the canvas does offer more protection. If it's under 3/4 of an inch, I will probably get it... thnx for the suggestion and answer!

The flea-bay shell should hopefully arrive today, and it looks like my trial should settle out on the courthouse steps (crosses fingers).

I'll report back on the case, and compare it with the smart cover to the incase magazine jacket.

$40 for the stm, with thicker case and magnetized cover? Not bad.

The big advantage for the incase is that you probably walk into your nearest BB and buy it now.

Smart cover tpu case did arrive from ebay, posted mini review on this forum.

Looks like the incase is trying to rub the outside edges of the screen protector off of the bezel. Something to consider if you've got it installed already.

Trying to decide which combo I like better.

Got my eBay case today, and went out and got the black leather smart cover to go with it.

The TPU case fits pretty good, however its not as rigid as the Incase. There a few places, such as around the volume buttons where its really flexible. I didn't notice simliar with the Incase. But the iPad 2 fit nicely, no need to fight it in like I've heard with other TPU cases.

The Incase has a lot of advantages, but I'm going to return in and go with the TPU case + smart cover for now.

Incase advantages:
- Lighter
- Thinner
- More secure fit
- I like the stand angles better

Incase disadvantages
- That elastic strap
- Part of the screen gets left exposed as the elastic strap allows the cover to pull back slightly
- Those two big nubs in the back
- No magnets for smart on/off
- I found the stand to be a bit of pain to get set up properly.

My ideal case I think would be a Incase Magazine Jacket v2 with built-in magnets and no need for the rubber nubs.

I think mine's going back to best buy for the same reasons. Close, but no cigar.

I'm finding this Incase perfect for my needs really (actually both this and the Book Jacket, the Book Jacket is for when I travel, Magazine for when I'm home). Also the strap works for holding the flap back as well as front. I would still like a shell only case at some point, but for now I'm good.

Not really sure I understand what the problem with the elastic strap is, it works really well on mine. I can't see buying a book type case without one actually. I also have no issue with any of the screen being exposed, and the stand and angles are pretty much perfect.

Different strokes I guess :)

Yep. It's subjective to a degree, really. I'm liking the flea bay TPU case and smart cover more.

Found a leather stain guard by cadillac shoe that appears to work pretty well. At least we'll see how it protects my red.

If they had spent an extra thirty cents and make the flap a bit thicker, the incase mag (plus magnet mod) would be pretty darned perfect. Or spend an extra seventy five cents and put in a good magnet to a) trigger the on/off and b) keep it shut.

Guess it's the price they paid for the pennies they saved and getting to market first.

Oh, and watch your screen protector if you take the case on and off. I think the incase rubbed the edges of my ghost armor loose.

Wow, that color combo is definitely interesting.

I showed the color to my wife, and she likes it.

The local Best Buy has stock in the original color today, so I'm going to go by and pick one up. Better than paying $10 S+H from the Incase website.

Ideally they would be in the Apple online store, and then I'll get free shipping and a small corporate discount.

I've decided to sell mine and stick with my Book Jacket, good as new. 37 shipped. PM me if interested.

I thought you guys should know, just in case it has not been mentioned, that the Apple magnetic cover works perfectly with this case if you file off 1/16th of an inch of plastic off of the case (where the old cover hinges in) so that the apple cover snaps in. And tear off the non-magnetic cover.

In addition you have full Apple cover functionality. Magnetic pop in, pop out.

I love it when a plan comes together.
