be very careful about that button leaving a dent over time

Yes, I was wondering about it. So expensive and still not completely the way I like it.
I wish incase had the Macbook Air zipperless sleeve for MacBook Pro. That would be an easy choice for me.

I am thinking the foofbag is the way to go. I realize it has an open end, but it does not have scratchy velcro. I plan to use mine inside a laptop bag 99.9% of the time, so this is not as large an issue to me.

I really like the look of the incase green bag, but i hate that zipper. I think id really prefer to have some sort of styrofoam sleeve to tuck my MBP into and then put that into the incase sleeve. I realize that this will be a major pain in the tail, and the sleeve will eventually rip, but I REALLY HATE SCRATCHES!

I was going to hit the Apple Store this weekend and try out a few sleeves. Do you think I can actually try out a sleeve on one of their MBP's?

The Incase neoprene case is excellent. Personally, I don't understand how some claim the zipper is a problem. I have used one on my 15" MBP for the past year, and there are no scratches at all. The zipper is fine.

I have now upgraded to the 17" MBP and purchased the new Neoprene plus and it is absolutely fine too.

The only way the zip could scratch the laptop is if you are extremely careless when putting the MBP into the sleeve. They really are fantastic IMO.

I like the green one. i am going to play with it at the store. I wish i could just find something stupid to wrap my laptop in that would fit in the incase.

i might just use a t-shirt

Did you used the normal Incase or the Incase Plus version on your 15" MacBook?

I used the old style one on my 15". Never had a problem with the zip scratching the MBP. Likewise, my fiancee has the old style 13" incase on her white MacBook and no scratches.

Like I said, if the user is very careless and decides to zip the sleeve when the MBP or MB is not fully inserted, I can see why it might lead to scratches. If used properly, I fail to see why this is an issue with the old sleeve or the new one.

I'm still in doubt, but I think a zipper less sleeve would be better for me. I am going to take it from college to college and sometimes have to hurry when the bell rings ;). I´m afraid that there will be a change to damage my MCB when I´m in a hurry. Although so far I haven´t found any closed zipper less sleeve which suit my requirements.

If you live in the UK, a trip to 'Poundland' will make you happy. They currently sell zipper-less neoprene sleeves (15"), which look exactly like this (obviously a no-name product though) for just 1 pound (roughly 1.50 dollars) and they have them in different colours as well. I picked one up, since it was so cheap and for 1 pound, you can't complain.. it's not "Incase" quality, but it's good enough, especially if you're going to use it as a 'case in a case'.

This is the ticket. I think I might order a case of the larger ones so I know the laptop will fit, and then fold it over on the edges to avoid scratches.

I also am not a fan of the incase label stitched into the interior. asking for trouble with that.

The lable inside the incase is not a problem. It is soft and does not cause scratches.

Like I said guys, I've been using the incase sleeves for over a year now with my MBP. They do not scratch your MBP - I am very obsessed about scratches and my 15", which I have just sold on eBay, had no marks on it at all.

If you don't mind the no name brand, take a look at this:

http://www.amazon.com/15-Notebook-F...?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1271693974&sr=1-17

For $9, seems like you can't go wrong. But you don't have a review. My key concern here is that there may be interior stitching that could cause scratches.

Yes, I don't care that much about the price aslong it's under ~$70. The Paul Smith enveloppe is around €98 and thats expensive imo :p. But I am just looking for a solid secundary protection. I prefer a brand that is especially focused on making these kind of sleeves for MCBs, f.e. incase and booq. If I don't find any I might just stick with the incase plus and hope that the zippers won't harm the mcb :)

For what its worth, I asked an Apple Rep about the InCase and she said she had it and had no problems.

I think I will get an InCase Plus and then get some poly foam pouches/sheets to wrap my MBP. I should find out very quickly if the zipper is causing damage and return the InCase without problems -- and no scratches to the MBP!

The booq Vyper is the best protection I've ever seen in a notebook sleeve. It offers FAR better protection than neoprene. And the zippers never come in contact with your MBP.

IDK. The Booq Bag does not appeal to me for some reason. I don't really need that level of protection and I have doubts as to the zipper issues. I hate getting a bag with a zipper.

The Booq doesn't offer any more protection than the Incase at all. I've used both, and as sleeves they are great. However, they both offer only minimal cosmetic protection if the MBP is dropped whilst in the case.

The Incase neoprene plus has more padding than the original, and a sleeker design than the Booq. I use it inside my backpack and it offers fantastic protection.

The zips are not an issue on either the Booq or the Incase, unless you are very careless as I mentioned before.

I can be a bit neurotic about caring for my gadgets, but even if I am very careful, eventually something will happen. If there is no zipper, I won't get upset over the scratch. I know one day I will be in a rush and careless. I think the Foofbag is the way to go, but I have no read enough reviews as to whether Foofbags produce scratches over time when lining becomes exposed and whatnot.

Fair enough. I've not had a foofbag for the MBP, but I did have one for several iPods and now use it with the iPhone. They are also excellent and the lining of them did not scratch either my glossy white iPod (front or aluminium back) or my iPhone 3GS.

I definitely do not think that the lining will in any way damage the MacBook casing.

Thanks for the info!

I think I might end up getting an InCase Plus and just bring poly foam sheets to wrap the MBP in. I know it sounds over the top, but I can get crazy with this stuff...

Haha - I understand. I am very meticulous with my Apple products too, actually all of my gadgets. My 2009 15" MBP which I just sold, I would take to University with me every day and it never had a mark on it when I sold it last week. Not even on the bottom case!
