Incipio Atlas Waterproof Case

I did notice the rub marks too. One is wearing down a their was little dust like fragments by it. I would assume these would eventually wear down to the point they would be almost gone. How will his affect the case I wonder. They should have made a better non plastic bottom snap part

Jayrflow: Try scrubbing with a bit of rubbing alcohol to get the residue off. Worked for me.

I picked up the Incipio ATLAS from Verizon. I had it for 1 day and returned it. The sound quality was terrible. I have the newest version of the LifeProof Frē and boy have they nailed every aspect. The quality of the sound is crystal clear during calls, speakerphone, and music. The screen has no oil slicks and the sensitivity is as if there was no case. It feels more secure than the ATLAS. And let's be honest, LifeProof is the ONLY company dedicated to waterproof cases. All these others are jumping on the bandwagon. I'll stick with LifeProof since waterproofing is there specialty. The ATLAS had horrible sound quality, high pitched noise from the earpiece, and it basically placed my phone on silent. And trust me I know because I went through all the black and white ones at Verizon. So roughly 10-12 cases. All had the exact same issues.

Still no issues with my Atlas case.

I had no problem removing the sticky residue from the screen when first opening up the case. No problems with phone calls and listening to music and the speakerphone is the same as the LifeProof I used before.

I threw the phone into the bath tub and had no water getting past the membranes.

I used FaceTime with no problems. I use a Bluetooth or wired headset most of the time, so I don't even need to complain about audio issues (I rarely use the speakerphone anyway).

To me, this case is like the Otterbox Armor but with a slimmer profile and better screen protector.

I understand you not having issues using a headset but without a headset it sounds like a kazoo basically. I also do not like the glass screen protector. A friend of mine had the ATLAS, dropped it, and the screen on the case shattered. Bad idea by Incipio in my opinion. Yes it feels nice but in reality on a drop its more likely to break and shatter. With a plastic screen protector there is no chance of it breaking or shattering. The LifeProof Fre or the Otterbox Armor are the way to go in my personal opinion! But its all personal preference in the end!

You're really getting no oil slicks with the newer Fre? I just got my new Fre red from Verizon and I still get oil slicks

Uh, no offense man but you are pretty much trolling here in this thread. You just joined today to post these two posts against a much superior case when compared to LifeProof. Your Verizon store let you open up and try out 10-11 Atlas cases. I smell something here....

^I agree with this post^
Must work for LifeProof.....

Is anyone concerned about the two little bumps that help support the case being closed at the bottom. One the bumps on mine is already starting to "file" itself down. I wonder how this will affect the case as time goes on.

Also is anyone concerned about the tempered glass breaking when the phone gets dropped? I am curious how it will react

Im not trolling the thread. I saw it and figured i would put my input. I do not work for LifeProof. I am actually in Optometry school. Got my Bachelors of Science in Biology. I do not live in California, I am from Oklahoma so no I do not work for LifeProof. The VW I have in my town are actually really nice people and workers and themselves were interested in the case so when i had an issue we kept trying until we ran out. Its not like i left the store or registered all of them.

I had a friend who had one and when he dropped his phone the screen shattered. So pick your poison when it comes on deciding between the Incipio ATLAS, LifeProof Fre, Otterbox Armor, or the Seidio Obex. It is mainly personal preference.

I wasnt trying to troll but i saw the thread andt thought i would put my input. I had an account previously but forgot the password and i deleted my old email so i could not log on so i had to create a new account. But yes my Verizon let me open 10-12 cases and make a call on them in the store. All had a horrible feedback. After my first case, not one of the other cases left the store or were in water. They let me do that because they themselves were curious. I do not work for LifeProof either. I am an Optometry school student and i have a Bachelors of Science in Biology. I am not from California, I am from Oklahoma. So nothing to "smell" anywhere.

So everyone who got it from Verizon, did yours come with the sticker? I feel like returning it to see if they have any without the sticker in the inside. Maybe the first batch with the sticker inside are the ones with sensitivity issues

When I returned my first one I checked through all of them(you can check for the sticker thru the window in the box) and they all had stickers on them, white and black.

Ha I did the same thing...they had about half a dozen and all had the sticker.

Damn so I guess all the ones sold by Verizon will have that sticker inside

Yeah I had a sticker too but carefully removed it. I wiped out the remaining residue without damaging the inside of the screen protector.

This case is a tie with the Otterbox Armor, IMHO. Both are great and have very few drawbacks when compared to the LifeProof Fre and Seidio OBEX.

Black and Blue

Black and Blue Atlas came in the mail today. Earphones, headphone adapter and t-shirt were included. I did not get earphones or the adapter at Verizon with my black case.

First impressions:
Passed the water test
Sticker was on outside of case, not on inside of glass like the case I purchased at Verizon.
Case was easier to open. I didn't have to use too much force to pop it.
In general, the QC seems better on this case.
The sound is much better than my black one was out of the box. It still rattles and distorts a bit at the top volume, but we'll see if it improves after it settles in a bit.
Overall impression: I think it's a better case than the first one.

I am going to return the black one to Verizon and give this one a good test.

Did you still have to use a penny to pry the top corner open?

Did you notice "rub" marks on the bottom of the case where the 2 holes are that align with the 2 tabs in the bottom cover?

Keep a note of the 2 tabs in the cover as it may wear over time as you constantly open/close it to charge.

Eventually the bottom cover may not have that solid "snapping" sound when you close it

Yes, I still needed something to pry it open.
Unlike my first case, this one seems to have the marks already.

I got mine from Verizon and had sticker on inside but no sensitivity issues for me.

One of my biggest gripes with this case was the lack of grip. Just bought a roll of this linerless rubber splicing tape at Lowe's for $3. I put a strip on either side yesterday and so far it's perfect. Still slides in and out of pocket easily. Doesn't slide on tables. Firm hold in hand. Love it! Not sure how long it will last, but feels great this morning. I'm a heavy user and no signs if peeling yet.

The moment I see people are having to make mods like this, the moment I instantly lose interest in this case.
