Well, took my phone out of the case and put it back in this AM after having some issues with speaker phone on FaceTime last night. Made a phone call on speaker phone this AM and no problems. Will keep testing.

For those of you who are having issues with touch screen sensitivity, I thought I'd share a 'fix' that seems to be working (at least a bit) so far.

It seems that the sensitivity issues occur when the phone's screen isn't firmly against the glass screen protector. I noticed an improvement with the touchscreen when simply lying on the couch with the phone screen facing down rather than up (thanks gravity).

I decided to try opening the case and slipping a few business cards in to tighten things up. I put them towards the bottom since that's where I was having the most issues. It definitely seems to be helping a bit.

I wasn't really able to able to close the case back up until I went down to three cards. I just used them because they were handy at work and thicker than paper. I'd imagine some sort of foam pad (like what Lifeproof started adding on the back of their cases to try and stop the vibration) might work even better.

I wonder how consistent the thickness of the foam is from case-to-case with the Atlas since some people have said that they don't have any issues with screen sensitivity. I think Incipio would have done us a favor if they'd made the foam on the back cover of the case a little thicker though.

Wow, $90 for a case and you have to use business cards to make it work. hope you have contacted Incipio about this, they should definitely fix it.

things we do to "fix" a $90+ case just so we can use it.. I dunno about everyone else but if i spend almost a $100.00 on something i expect it to work.

we keep justifying and coming up with homemade fixes and companies keep making ****** products knowing customers will buy it anyway.

Agreed...I'm on my third one so I may have to give up on the Atlas after months of frustrating anticipation. I don't see a point in contacting Incipio about it right (bought it at Verizon). Like the other waterptoof cases, I dont think I can justify the price until they make some improvements.

Man I really wanted to love this case. The sound from the speaker, I expected that coming from the lifeproof. This case feels really solid. I really love the glass screen protector. The sensitivity around the edges is not very noticeable. But what really got me n that I hate is that I get a loud high pitch noise from the earpiece when making a call. When I set the call and it rings, that's when it's most noticeable. Also while on some calls, they way people sounded while having the case on made me pull the phone away from my ear or lower the volume, which then I couldn't hear them very well. I've had this case for a few hours and I'm thinking I made a mistake. I really love how this case is built but the issue with the earpiece and how the speaker seems to be a little worse than lifeproof, I think I might return it tomorrow after I give it a full day of testing. Hopefully incipio is secretly reading these topics so they know where to improve this case.

And the case is dry too. Haven't water tested it yet

I agree, I've been waiting for this case patiently.... and sometimes not so patiently. I was hoping it would be my summertime case but when the sound coming out of the earpiece sounds like a kazoo and I get that high pitched noise coming out of nowhere, it's not worth it to keep trying for one that works. Maybe I'll try closer to summer and they'll finally have the kinks worked out but who knows....

In order to not get the loud high pitch noise from the earpiece, I need to lower the volume to or below the halfway point. I don't know how I feel about this but I will give the case til Friday to see if I'm gonna end up keeping it or returning it

So I ordered mine from Verizon and when I got the box from FedEx, I opened the box and the retail box was open. I thought nothing of it really. Then I put my phone into it to test the earpiece and speaker. Then I took the phone out and boy did it fail the water test. All 3 water indicators have been triggered. Sending this back to Verizon. I don't think I'll be giving this case another chance for a while.

Is it just mines or does this part always get wet? This is where the water is entering through. Through the charging port when this part gets wet. I close it the way the instructions say but it still gets wet and water still gets in it

@jayrflow: I believe that is normal for water to be on inside of door but not get past the headphone jack or charger port obviously. On the inside of the door there should be a rectangular piece of rubber that rests against the charging hole. You have one?

Well I really wanted to like this case but ended up back with LP for the time being. I did really enjoy the weight of the case, the screen with no newton rings was amazing. Well I guess that's about it... The sounds were horrific no matter how you aligned the phone inside of the case, the screen while looking nice did not have good sensitivity. Some spots I had to actually use two hands to push hard, mainly the bottom and top corners. But also had problems with the middle of the screen...

Just like the LP I'm sure we will have revisions along the way. I HOPE! Sure I might have had a defective case but I only tried 1 and will try again in a month or so. The LP I have now is so close to perfect it'll be hard to replace. Well except for the newton rings:rolleyes:.

I have not tried a screen protector, baby powder or a air conditioned room with the LP and I myself thought about putting something between the phone and back plate of the Atlas but nah just returned it...

***I hope Incipio glances at these forums!!!***

This thing right? Yea I have it but its not stopping the water. I kinda wanna give this case another try because of the screen but the earpiece noise is just horrible

Yea thats the thing. I originally went back to Verizon to just exchange it but didn't want to deal with another dud. Just like LP it took them a dozen "revisions" to get it close enough for public release. Hopefully Incipio can do it in 1 revision lol;)

***Looking at your above picture does that rubber thing pop out? I don't have a case to look at but seems to me that it is in upside down maybe...***

and all this time we were blaming Lifeproof for not making the right case.. here almost 6 months later, we have another company with failed water proof case..:(

No it doesn't pop out. I tried to pry it out but nothing. I guess I'll return it to Verizon tomorrow. I really wanted to like it but eh

I had the earpiece noise but not any more. Also had a lot of vibration initially from the bottom speaker. This too is much better. As to screen sensitivity, I never really had much of an issue with that. I only had one spot with slight decrease in sensitivity, but that seems to be better too. The one thing I am still testing is the speakerphone. I am still not sure if people can hear me all the time or not.

I think a lot of it may just be related to the membranes of the openings needing to break in some.

I think you just got a lemon, especially with all the water leaking in

I'm still not convinced and not sure how you "break in" a goretex membrane, but the sound on mine has improved some. I played a recording for my jazz band at rehearsal tonight and it lacked the kazoo effect in the low and mid ranges. Higher notes still distorted like crazy.
A phone call I took this afternoon was still not very good...

Fishmd, maybe there's hope yet...must. find. patience...

So I have a LP in black but I liked the red one better so I ordered it. When I go into Verizon tomorrow, I'm gonna see if they have the Atlas in stock finally. If they do, I may ask them for a swap and see if it any better than mine. I'll test out the Atlas and let it "break in" for a week n if it still isn't any better, then I'll send it back. If its great, I'll send the red LP back. I really want the Atlas to work tho

This is nothing more than a hunch, but could part of the vibration problem actually have something to do with the bottom port door? I have noticed that the door can wiggle a little if I do not forcefully push it all the way up. It is highly likely that the rattle sounds could come from a loose plastic on plastic contact. The vibrations from the phone/music etc. are pushed through anything that is in contact with the phone. I see some experimentation in my future...
