So I’ve successfully preordered my Vision Pro and the app fitted me as a medium. After placing my order, I went through the preorder process again just to see how long the dates have slipped. To my surprise, the app fitted me as a small the second time around… Now I’m a bit concerned I may have ordered the wrong size. Has Apple disclosed anything about how they will handle misfittings? I really hope I don’t need to return the entire device altogether if it’s wrong (and potentially wait weeks or months for a new one).

If you have already made a successful pre-order with a medium fitting, why would it then change to small because surely it would only change to a small if you made a another pre-order, meaning you ordered 2 instead of one. Your post is slightly confusing.

You can go through the fitting process without completing another order. I did the same just as a double check, and thankfully I got the same fit the second time.

That's interesting, I was wondering how consistent the size recommendations would be. FWIW I did three or four scans this morning and all ended up recommending a 33W Light Seal and M band. I'd recommend doing a few more scans (just add more to your cart) to see if you get S or M more frequently.

I am therefore assuming if the fitting is separate to the pre-order process, any changes in the fitting process will be reflected in a change in the order meaning an updated email will be forwarded telling the buyer of the new changes? correct?

I went through three times after reading this post, first time small, second time medium, third time small. I think it probably means it’s both inexact and also maybe you’re near the borderline. You should pick up your preorder in store and try it on with them, and if it’s uncomfortable then exchange it. That’s what I would do. Looks like pre-order dates are slipping for the 256GB one (I noted a not available for pickup after I started repeating the process to test the sizing.

It’s not separate from the pre-order process, it’s just that you don’t need to actually place the order to see your size in the cart.

It originally scanned me as a small and that’s what I ended up ordering but subsequent scans showed me as a medium, which makes a lot more sense as I know my head isn’t small lol, unfortunately, since I didn’t do in-store pick up, I ended up ordering a medium band for launch day delivery. Hopefully, Apple will allow us to swap the original ones out and then it’s packaged kind of like an Apple Watch band whereas it’s a separate box within a box. This is why I’m assuming they do want store pick up to be the first option but I have a feeling we will get more information regarding how to swap these headbands out for shipping orders. Either way I didn’t wanna wait to have fun with it. Lol.

PS- my light seal size came out the same every time so at least I didn’t have to purchase an extra one of those, it is what it is, but hopefully Apple will make it easy for the bands that didn’t fit correctly. I think the face scanning algorithm could use a little little bit of work.

I have done 10 separate scans just to see the accuracy. I have not had it change what was needed once (nothing, including the light seal). If you're on the borderline, I guess it can change up and down depending.

Took two separate measurements, both measure me with a medium headband and a 21w light seal.

Hmm, seems wide.

Tested several times here and it gave me the same results. Honestly I thought my head was large, so I was surprised to see medium come up 😂

I tried multiple times with a smaller head and got an S size and 21W. I scanned 4-5 times and got the same size. Weirdly, though, if I go on the Apple Store page and do a light seal scan for "someone else," it gives me 25w, and that's the only place/time it does that. I feel confident in my 21W haha

It also depends what device you use. I was getting different sizes with my M1 iPad Pro compared to my iPhone 13 Pro.
Agree - device matters.

iPhone scan says Medium w/ 21W.
iPad scan says Medium w/ 25W.

Hope Apple store can exchange if needed....

21W S here. I did two scans on my 13 Pro. (Mostly I just did it to have the app tell me “Looking good” again. It’s been one of those days.)

iPhone is giving me a small size and iPad is giving me medium sizes only. Hoping the exchange process doesnt take more than a few hours at the store.

Apparently the first time, a male (ego) algorithm did the measuring. The second time it was female. ;)

I've heard a good number of orders are held up by guys reprocessing and reprocessing for an XXXL size. Apparently they have classic Apple socks at the ready...

The genius of Apple was anticipating the need for those socks all those years ago. ;)

As someone with tiny hands and a giant noggin, I dont think that head size is actually worthy of braggage...

Obviousy *if* there is ever a fl*shlight connected accessory for the Vision, everyone is going to buy an XXXXXXXXXL
