I think I may have it...
Well after reading 4 pages of basically the same problems I have come up with a few of my own conclusions, I hope they help. If I am covering any past comment I apologise but....
Note: I am referring to the cracked version here, if you have the original WHY ARE YOU READING THESE THREADS? call Adobe you fool....
If you have installed CS3 on 10.4 then upgrade to 10.5 Indesign does work.
If you have 10.5 and install CS3 Indesign does not work because it is not Indesign CS3 5.0.2. You need 5.0.2. to work on 10.5! All of the indesign cracks are 5.0.1 etc. Apparently the ones going around are the pre-release and you shouldn't have it.
Solution.
Firstly Download the CS3 Ind. 5.0.2 patch.
Then install your cracked version of 5.0.1.
Then go to adobe and get the Indesign 5.0.2 update.
Now you have a version on 5.0.2.
Dont open Indesign.
Create a Root User. See other Threads on Creating a Root User.
Run the Adobe 5.0.2 patch in Root User Profile.
Then drag/drop then Indesign 5.0.2 updated indesign into the 5.0.2 patcher.
Let it work its magic and SHAZAAM!
If you have done it right it should work like mine did.
Quite effortlessly actually.
I am running OS 10.5.4. with Indesign 5.0.2.642 (Build)
I hope this sheds some light.
Quite obvious now that I think about it.
