I expect that one shouldn't have to wait for 3 or 4 months to walk into an Apple store and be able to buy any size, capacity or color that they wanted. They are launching in new countries while people in the US still haven't gotten the phones they ordered two weeks ago. I don't see that as a good launch where the consumer is concerned.

So the answer is... Apple should just make more iPhones? :D

Well, the rumor that no one is talking about is whether or not Opto-plexon will finally be available in the iPad line.

My guess is yes and they will do so without the cost of the extra inverter.

Ready to pull out my credit card!

Can't wait to get the iPad Air 2. Coming from an iPad mini Retina, I now realize how the bigger screen on the Air is better.

I'm also hoping for less screen anomalies this time around (dust under the screen, backlight bleed, dead pixels, etc.) but I believe these won't go away anytime soon. At least the 'dust under the screen' should be lessened, now that the LCD and glass are fused.
The larger screen is nice. However if your iPad had all the problems you listed there then you are doing something wrong. Either that or it was very defective out of the factory.

27-Inch Retina Display iMac Launching by End of 2014

LOL! Just like the MacPro!! (Dec. 31 2013) I gotta think there's some tax reason they must ship by the end of the year otherwise, why the hell would you release a product then? The MacPro is basically a 2014 machine, but because of some weird reason, they launched it the last day of 2013.

I hope the iMac won´t be released the same way as in late 2012, when they said released in december and then you cant actually order it before 30th of december. Essentially thats like holding everything back as long as you possibly can but still keep your promise. I hope they say November and release is 1st of november.

That's an excellent arm chair CEO analysis. Care to elaborate on how it could be improved?

That's Apple's job, not mine. The way people think Apple can walk on water, you'd think you could walk into one of their stores in their home country and buy their newest phone. But the iPhone is always in short supply for months, and the iPad mini was in short supply, and the Retina mini was in short supply, and if I recall correctly, the last redesign of the iMac was in short supply. I'm seeing a repeating pattern.

So the answer is... Apple should just make more iPhones? :D

That would do the trick.

It's been way too long: Maybe it's a reference to lines being too long, and how the launch of Apple Pay with iOS 8.1 will be able to make lines go faster?

The new iPhones are very nice phones, no question about that. But why the hype and mass hysteria? Why the shortages? Other than Apple finally making a larger phone, what's the Oh my, I can't live unless I get one?

Nice strawman. There is no hysteria, nor anyone saying they can't live unless they get one.

If they don't launch in other countries to finish up with the demand in the US, scalpers will start sucking up the supply in the US to export to EU and China. Instead, Apple does it themselves. I think it's much more clever this way.

Show me anyone else on the planet that can produce more phones per day than Apple.

My predict is the "One more thing" is the updated Mac Mini. My take is it follows the style of the current Mac Pro but only an inch tall.

That would do the trick.

Well they're working on it. The factories are running at capacity:

600,000 iPhones per day
25,000 iPhones per hour
417 iPhone per minute
7 iPhones per second

The point is... it's not a conspiracy. It's not a plan to build hype.

It's just too many people want the darn things. :D

Which they do. Every year they keep making more iPhones and sell more of them. It's simply every year the demand is stronger than the expectation and Apple, despite their wealth, cannot conjure up components out of thin air while meeting the yield in the manufacturing phones.

I recall correctly, the last redesign of the iMac was in short supply. I'm seeing a repeating pattern

The latest products utilizing new production methods along with new components are seeing low yields? Somehow that pattern sounds logical and nice to hear that you're seeing the rational side of things without having to resort to some conspiracy theories

It's part of the plan to build hype for a product that no longer creates the hype it did a couple of years ago.

...maybe not.

They will have to come up with something better than just spec bumps for me to upgrade from my current iPad air.

I hope they do announce new TB displays, otherwise I might have to sell my current retina MacBook and go for the expected retina Mac.

Definitely having first world problems here. Lol. :D

Its strange that Apple has no stock to ship the iphone 6 plus. You can get the iphone 6 in 2-3 weeks. I think the ipad air 2 stock will be the same but some people will settle for the ipad air for price drops. Im not excited for the ipad air. It should finally have an 8mp camera, touch id, and the gold option but people are getting samsung tablets or surface because they do more. I have the ipad 2 but the processor is slow. If i get this ipad i will keep it for 4 years and by that time maybe apple will reinvent the ipad.

The scalpers sucked up plenty of the US supply on launch weekend. People ordered phones a couple of weeks ago and haven't gotten them, yet people in new countries did.

Xserve

When a lot of people read "It's been way to long" they thought Apple TV, Mac Mini, or Thunderbolt Display.

My first reaction: Xserve!!

Then they need more factories.

OK. Two real options:
-Increase the price for the first few months to lower demand, and let people know that the phones will be available for $50 or $100 less in three months.
-Stockpile devices for additional months before offering them for sale, which would mean making *everyone* wait (instead of just some people), and would increase the cost of the phones because of additional warehousing expenses.

Which would you prefer?

Edit: Just saw this:
Then they need more factories.

OK, cool. So your choice is to increase the costs of production (and, therefore, the cost of the phone) by opening new factories and hiring more workers for a temporary demand surge.

You can't just hire more workers temporarily for "free." There are high fixed costs in opening factories, hiring and training workers, and so on. If they would be needed for a substantial portion of the product cycle it would make sense. But they're not.

Then they need more factories.

First : imagine apple will produce and stock 20million of phones for each model before launch... Whatever the number of factories, this will take a while...

Secondly : work with no logistics and assets... A device stored in a place is COSTING MONEY. It takes space, you need pay people to secure the place and it does not get added value except taking dust. So point of view of logistics this is the worst investment to have stock stuck in one place...

And new factories for temporarily spike in demand is completely nonsense for viable company. You cannot open temporary factories like that...

So stop complaining, i live in Switzerland and I got my iPhone 6 on launch day, there were a lot of stock there... For some friends they daily check the apple stock and my friend got his 6+ this week-end. So yeah 2-3 weeks waiting time ? Wow is that too long ?

With people like you, whatever how apple will handling it it will not reach your expectations so please feel free to go buy a droid device and bye.
