Of course supply will be limited. These new iPads will be the best yet, and consumers will be desperate to upgrade to take advantage of all the amazing new features and technologies inside.

If you want to own an iPad Air 2 this year, then you better be quick getting your order in. I know I'll be ordering the second I get the opportunity.

Demand for these products will be off-the-charts.

It's hilarious how media is biting the constructed 27" retina iMac rumour, when it's actually reverse, the Thursday Apple will launch an 21" 4k Macintosh; followed late q4'15 by the 5K 27“ model.

About iPads those constrains likely ************ the only development required by the mini just have been made on the air.

Also ming-chu kuo missed the 12“ *retina* hd MacBook Air....

I'm surprised that Apple can do the larger 27-inch iMac Retina so quickly ...

I would have expected delays... I reckon this will change soon.

I can't even believe people would even believe a 4K iMac any time soon either.

That's a really good point. This year has so far been a lot of hype and bullpucky but not very much that can be called amazing. The iPhone 6 is really great (I've got one) but not really that amazing compared to the 5c I traded in.

As for the entire Mac line it almost makes one ask, "do they still make those" except for the mini which provokes the question, "why do they still make those"? The non-Steve Apple is turning out to be somewhat boring.

Its not a really good point, or even a mildly good point. Its parroting the same line which has been thrown around for years. Anybody with even a basic understanding of business would know how, at Apples size, this would be a totally disasterous thing to do.

As for your views on the Mac line - plenty of people purchase and use mac desktops and laptops every day. If you have moved away from a desktop/laptop to a tablet or other device, that doesnt mean that all others have. And the Mac mini is a device with a massive following on these forums.

As for boring - I would prefer a boring company consistently refining and improving its solid product line, rather than an exciting one chashing gimmics and coming up with solutions for problems that dont exist.

As long as the Mac mini gets an update as well I am fine... A little bit a shame that only the 27" iMac gets updated and not the 21". I would like :apple: to make a 24" again as to me that was the perfect size. 21" I a little to small where for me the 27" is to big

My 2 cents

Once you get used to the bigger size you always want bigger lol. I initially thought the 27 inch iMac was massive but now I'd love it if they released a 32 inch iMac :D

Just bookmarking this post for the claim chowder lulz.

Initial supply of a brand new product that Apple is releasing is limited? Gee, that never happens

Ok, then Apple will all their trillions still can't do a proper product launch. People are having their iPhone orders delayed all the while Apple launches the phone in a couple dozen new countries.

Or do they do it intentionally to keep the hype going for several month instead of meeting the demand and let the buzz fizzle away?

There is a tension between engineering and manufacturing. This is normal when product launches are high profile. They are also massively popular. Nobody has the equivalent volume problem except perhaps game consoles. Those too had slow ramp ups squeezed by late engineering and holiday deadline.

No business creates hype by failing to make a sale

Local retailers have said that new Apple products will be on sale on Friday and shipments will start on monday.

Nothing really new coming as i doubt Apple would have told retailers that in advance.

Yea, a bit of a bad day. :) So the new countries are only getting the 6, not the 6+?

we got every type and model, but the 6+ was in short supply and the 6s were easier to get. Space grey went first, especially the 64Gb, in both sizes, that seemed to be the popular colour. The gold didn't seem anywhere near as popular this year and 16Gb makes up the rump of what I see still available.

But you get Apple Pay first! In 220,000 outlets, that really is a very small drop in a very large bucket. Apple has the mother of all rollouts ahead of them before Apple Pay reaches anywhere near the kind of penetration it needs to have to be useful and worthwhile for them to have built.

American exceptionalism at its best. You can smell the sense of entitlement.

It seems Australia schools are just as bad as U.S. ones in teaching civics and history. The phrase "American Exceptionalism" did not derive from any meaning that America is superior or "most deserving." It's another phrase for the "American Experiment." It originated from the French observer of American government and life, Alexis de Tocqueville, who noted how the U.S. was unique -- not better, just distinct, which is another word for "exceptional."

Now that you know what the phrase means, use it correctly. It will make you look smart, rather than the uneducated rube way you used it above.

It's been way too long... for what?

I don't want processor speed bumps.
I don't want better screen resolution.
I don't want new sizes of existing products.
All of these are fine but none of these have been "way too long".

It's been way too long since Apple introduced a NEW product that I had never thought of but now cannot live without. The Apple Watch is NOT that amazing new product. It looks nice and I'm sure that it's an engineering marvel, but even as an old-guy who has always worn a wristwatch, I'm not excited about it.

Give me something ridiculously new that changes the way we do our jobs or live our lives. That's what I've been waiting for. Those are the things that Apple has done in the past, and it's definitely been way too long. Incremental updates... yawn...

Looking at the invite again this morning. Doesn't the leaf appear to be a writing instrument or finger and the top part of the apple a writing surface? I know what Steve said years ago about the stylus, but he was also critical about tablets before the iPad was released. This may get interesting.

I expect that one shouldn't have to wait for 3 or 4 months to walk into an Apple store and be able to buy any size, capacity or color that they wanted. They are launching in new countries while people in the US still haven't gotten the phones they ordered two weeks ago. I don't see that as a good launch where the consumer is concerned.

Please, don't be so shortsighted! Apple has to roll out fast otherwise if they wait it will only increase the number of scalpers and the iPhone will be traded in black markets for massive profit. The resutl? Situation even worse than it is now so please, look at the bigger picture rather than your limited view as a customer.

IN fact, try to travel to some european countries now and have a look how much overpriced it is in those countries that officially don't even sell it. Where do you think they get the phones? Yeah, in those 1st wave countries. Waiting solves nothing and it only makes the situation much worse for everyone.

And please, don't cry like a baby. You are trying to buy an item that is in high demand. Regardless of a company, any product that is in high demand and the manufacturing can't keep up with it will cause delays. That is not only logical but expected. Order online and wait few weeks. No big deal. IF they didn't release the iphone this year you wouldn't have this "big" problem you are complaining about now and you would move on with your life and be happy with what you had. So approach things that way and you will life a happier life.
Or you not having an item that didn't exist a month ago is now making your life much worse? Order online and relax. It will come as it did to other people.
Also, don't know about USA but here in EU you can reserve the iphone and 2 weeks ago I could have any iPhone 6 plus in any colour when i was making the reservation so I don't even know what is the big deal.

American exceptionalism at its best. You can smell the sense of entitlement.

Its an American company and Apple made the decision that the US would be one of the first countries to get it. Entitlement is taking inventory away from people the product was intended for in order to feed the self-entitled people in other countries who think their desires are more important than everyone else's.

I'd be careful with that analogy. You could also interpret it as writing on a screen than can be bent ;)
