so my apple tv was suppose to be delivered on the 29th, but has i just looked at the tracking it got delayed in china and wont be here till the 1st, im so pissed

You are pissed because it got delayed until the 1st?

That is nothing, mine was delayed until the 5th. You have nothing to complain about, at least you are getting it this week still.

I feel this is becoming a hostile thread... Be happy for others I say.

This is pretty much how most threads here go. A bunch of people being happy to hear the news, and a small group of people who seem to have a mission to point out every single thing they don't like and why people who disagree with them are making a dumb choice.

People on the internet are way too entitled.

Ordered mine in the UK on 2nd Sep. Just had shipping upgraded free by Apple to next day delivery. Shipped today so should have tomorrow. :D

Searched for 2 seconds. I'm not surprised that Apple has more control over getting it right, they make both devices. Doesn't mean there aren't better apps. I was just pointing out that it is possible. The poster was saying it wasn't. It's always like this on this forum. Someone says X is impossible, you show X is possible, the goal posts get moved.

Seriously, how about for once just conceding ?

However, I don't see what's so great about streaming stuff from an iOS device. My media is not primarily stored there, it's either on my computer or on my NAS. Why would I want to waste already limited battery streaming from my iPhone ?

No one "moved the goal post." The OP said "Airplay from a IPad\Iphone4\Itouch4...video and audio from any app running on those devices." The app you posted does not do that.

This is funny on so many fronts coming from YOU.

You must not have an iphone4, plenty of battery power there! are you one of the I wont get one because its flawed? Regardless, whats your thoughts on people having music streamed to their iphones ala pandora? Why should it be a one way street?

This has been addressed. This is pure fiction. Touch input kills this idea so hard.
.

no. YOU claim it kills the idea ... by bringing up that not ALL games and not ALL apps will work well by touch input, time will show you that some killer games and apps will in fact work fine by touch input. I concede not ALL will. But then, I won't want to use ALL apps on my big screen tv. What are you going to concede? Yeah, I didn't think so. Goal posts get moved. You kill me.

Show some flexibility in your arguments and I think you will find others being flexible back.

on its way

Status of mine suddenly changed to Shipped while I was out for lunch. It hasn't changed at all before that and I was starting to think I'd miss out on the initial batches being sent out.

ETD is 4th Oct as well, but am hoping that maybe it'll arrive before the weekend as getting it delivered to my work address which is in London - surely courier companies should be better positioned to deliver quicker to the capital city than to the rural home counties?

Disapointed it's being sent by TNT though. Everytime I order something and it's delivered by TNT the packaging is smashed up. My iMac 5 years ago had damaged casing when I got it out the box, dread to think what they muppets at TNT depot were doing with it before delivery.

Mine shipped 1:45 AM this morning (09/28). I ordered mine at 6PM on 09/01. Estimated delivery Oct 5th.

Now mine shows shipped, I ordered at 11:31p on sep 2, and my estimated arrival date is Oct 5 to me here in CA :(

anyone in the uk getting any sense from TNT's track'n'trace site?
none of the parcel numbers on the apple site find anything when i plug them into TNT's website. is it likely just to take a long time to register on their system?

Yes the TNT site is working for me now. It took a little while after getting the email from apple to show up on their site, but it's there now. Mine arrived in Lyon in France at 15:00 today. Claims it will be delivered before or on the 4th October, so either Friday or Monday I assume.

Don.

I had the same issue until I realised there was another option on TNT's homepage for international tracking. Check it out in the top right. Hope that helps.

Got my shipping notification today at 16:10 with a delivery date of on or before 04/10/2010.

UK order placed on 2nd September.

It has shipped via TNT this evening so am keeping my fingers crossed that it may arrive before the weekend. :)

Is anyone receiving conflicting delivery dates? On my order, the FedEx tracking page says "Estimated delivery: Oct 5, 2010," but my email from Apple says "Delivers by: Oct 01, 2010."

Mine says the exact same--Apple claims the 1st, FedEX the 5th. My box is currently in Anchorage, AK. I can't imagine my box will arrive on Friday, but it would be a pleasant surprise.

Hopefully others come up with a new Handbrake profile for the :apple:tv in the mean time and I can start re-encoding my new content, if needed.

ah, i see. should have thought of that because obviously it's coming internationally. doh!
thanks for that - although now it just means i'll be refreshing the tnt site every hour looking for an update :)

Hey anybody know where I can find the specs and price list for the Apple TV? Would really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

Mine shipped on the 27th, and FedEx tracking shows it arrived in my city (Tampa, FL) this morning and states "At local FedEx Facility". But the Estimated Delivery date is "Oct. 1 by 10:30am". I wonder if they really going to hold this for 2 days before delivering??

EDIT: Looks like they just attempted delivery. Guess that answers my question! Picking it up after work!

Yes I'm getting conflicting delivery dates:

Apple says October 4th.

FedEx says October 5th by 4:30 pm.

FedEx tracking still shows it as being "At FedEx Facility" on Lantau Island, Hong Kong, where it has been since Sep 28 11:42pm (hong kong time), which is Sep 28 08:42 am California time. . . over 24 hours ago. I expect it will be checking in at Alaska some time soon, based on my experience tracking my iPhone 4 a few months ago.

I ordered on 9/1 at 9:55 pm california time.

You are so funny bro! Hey add me in Game Center!
