Yawn.
This might have been cool 10 years ago but I’m so over Instagram. I’ve started using Flickr again (which is still around after all these years) and it’s a much better photo sharing platform. Less influencers, no nonsense on you feed, just people you follow. The way it should be. I highly recommend everybody check it out.

Otherwise I hope there is a way to retain use of the existing app.
Me too.

All last evening I was using the iOS version of Instagram on my iPad. I put it down for a while, and when I picked it up again, late at night, it was updated and I was “Nooooooooooo!” It’s SO bad. So annoying. Home takes you into reels. They want to be the new TikTok. Comments type is too tiny and strains my eyes. Weird thing is, even though it updated automatically and I did unfortunately have auto updates turned on, iOS Is still telling me I need to update Instagram.

I’m hoping there is a way to get the iOS version of Instagram back on my iPad, maybe using manual back up and restore and transferring the iOS version from my Phone back to my iPad.

It's still the old version to me, maybe its not hitting everyone at once?
Yeah, I feel like somehow they pushed the first version of the iPad app to people, because even though it was suddenly updated, the app store is still telling me I need to update instagram, and it’s a new version from the one that just suddenly appeared on my iPad, and the iPad version of Instagram has only been out for like a day now?

If you can, that'll just be temporary. Maybe consider using the website instead. Though if they get enough bad reviews they may change it.

I'm reminded once again that we can't give reviews for apps from pre-release versions of the OS :p

One of the few times I've agreed with The Zuck was when he resisted releasing a Facebook app for the iPad because it technically wasn't a mobile device.

He seems to have held out even longer with IG...
