I wonder if the next MBP will drop USB completely since they currently have 2 TB ports? They could add a 3rd TB port and drop USB completely.![]()
how are you going to connect non-TB accessories?
You will connect them with adapters of course.how are you going to connect non-TB accessories?
I call BS on this... no real reliable source is available on this.
Does anybody have any idea of when this might show up in the MacBook Pro line?
Intel expects production to ramp up in 2014
macbook retinas don't have ethernet ports, unfortunately
Not sure if I don't understand what they mean by "will be backwards compatible with current-generation cables and connectors.", or nobody else does
So we will get faster speeds with no real devices or reasonable pricing products to use it with. Hooray.
Does backward-compatible mean that current computers with TB will get the faster speeds without a hardware upgrade, or does it just mean that they are kind enough to not come up with a different shape connector just for the laughs, and that new TB devices will work with current ones albeit only at current speeds?
The second part you said...."new TB devices will work with current ones albeit only at current speeds".The new generation of Thunderbolt, code-named 'Falcon Ridge', will be backwards compatible with current-generation cables and connectors
Your point? There are adapters for that. Isn't it via USB though?
Right, because TB 1.0 is flying off the shelves...
