Apple is horribly late to the i-party by post power era standards. May be a political distraction with ARM licensing or are notebooks with the best body last on Intel's list for smart brains.

I wouldn't be supprised, relationships between OEMs and suppliers are inmportant. But if this is intel thorwing a fit for Apple using the 9400M or the Apple A4, then intel needs to **** and innovate.

If they did that they would be buying old technology at ridiculous prices..thats why they are waiting, because even 5 or 6 months ago the MBPs were stupidly, stupidly over priced with similar spec machines available.

Value for price is an individual experience and varies from one user to another. Insulting people who see value in the current MBP won't make the refresh come faster. This ugly practice will just make you more bitter and frustrated.

I decided a month ago that the wait isn't worth it, and bought an MBP at it's current configuration. Even if the refresh went out the next day I would have been happy with my purchase. It does what I need at a speed that makes me happy. Every time I read this forum and see the frustration people feel, and I see how unhealthy this wait was.

Written on my new MBP :)

I always try to buy around the middle of the HW cycle. That way not only do I avoid the frustrating wait, I also avoid ~90% of the problems of the initial model while getting 90% or more of the features of the final version. And sticking to the same point of the cycle results in getting a full cycle's worth of use.

i fully agree with you Eric, still is hard not having the latest and greatest...but with Apple that can change in a couple of months. Good luck to Michigan State Saturday!
