I see. So running something like Mathematica or something that requires a lot of processing will suffer greatly, while a simple GUI app that is not CPU intensive would be good to go on Rosetta. So it looks like we might not have such a smooth transition after all. Developers need to get their code compiled for x86 ASAP. If you have been hearing reports that Rosetta is 'comparable' then they are likely to be talking about GUI apps. Apple have said that Rosetta is not suitable for 'performance intensive' applications. Read that too mean an app that doesn't spend all its time waiting for event messages.
