That's your opinion. For me you can't get any worse than on device scanning and I don't mind companies scanning their own hardware. And I did move to Android btw...

Android phones, at least the one's I would buy, are also great functioning devices, and they even have touchid for when we have to go masked. As for spending, you have a point, but I've probably spent more in the last year -- an Intel Mac Mini, and M1 MBA, a new Windows PC, a new Android phone.

You do know there's more android phones purchased out there than iPhones? Anyway, they don't do on device scanning to turn me into the government, so I don't even need to bother with Graphene or the like. I don't really mind scanning for advertising purposes.

Well Apple scans JUST the photos... Android scans everything possible.

how is it on the other side?

I actually like the other side, good hardware, fingerprint reader, great screen. I don't mind them scanning on google drive, I don't use it for anything serious, and I don't mind them scanning gmail, it's just one of my email accounts.

I wouldn't mind Apple scanning icloud either, just not my phone.

Not on-device, they don't--except Chrome. Don't use Google storage, Chrome, or Gmail and a good deal of what Google can know about you goes away. Fine-tune Android and some more goes away.

Nah... if the OS comes closed from someone like Google, Samsung, Huawei, I do not trust it. Even if they get caught they will be just fined a measly amount.

Checkout privacy.apple.com and come back here.

I had to login and go through few steps to apple for a privacy guide that will be ready in 3 days times.... now I am scared.

I know I'm switching from an old lg v30 to the iPhone 13 pro max. I've been with android forever now. I did try an iPhone 5c way back when and hated it after 3 days. Switched back to android. My wife has used iPhone for the last 5yrs now and has been happy. The lack of updates for Android is the main reason for the switch. And all the bugs and glitches

That situation gets referenced a lot but is really the only high profile situation where they did that. They've also bent to the will of other governments (especially China) already as well. You (global "you" ;) ) can't pick and choose your Apple behavior to fit the narrative. Well, I guess you can... but it's not reasonable.
That's a two way street. You don't get to pick and choose what examples you have of Apple, invading privacy, just to suit your narrative. At the end of the day, folks need to loosen that tinfoil a bit, LMAO.

Try a Pixel 5A, works perfectly.

Pixel 6 Pro running stock Android is ten million times better then a iPhone 13 Pro Max and Fischer Price iOS.
You know I have to admit. I was hoping for a parallel experience from Android. Instead with the nova launcher I can have 6 apps per row and resize widgets to get exactly what I want. I still get fairly granular security (which will further improve with Android 12). The camera and screen are great. Battery life is 2 days if I need it.

No one has even complained about the green message box. :)

It will be interesting to see what I do if Apple quietly (or vocally) kills this stupid CSAM project. I might just stay with Android anyway. It really does seem like the limitations of iOS make it a Fisher Price OS. And lest ye think me too biased, Windows 11 is hot garbage right now. Stay with 10. :D

Oh and the price, brand new, was only $450.
