Its well known that the CRTC is in bed with Robelus...
So your solution to the problem would be to??? Do nothing? That is exactly what they want you to do. Do nothing and nothing will ever change. With that defeatist attitude, why bother even voting in elections?

I got my iPhone from Fido in July of '08. Same day as it came to Roger's.

Yeah I'm sure it came to Rogers, I was just stating the point that it didn't come a year later like he suggested, I only found about it after August 2008 when my dad got one and he indirectly convinced me to get one because I saw it and played with it. I was at camp and was shocked when I came home to him holding one in his hands. Ha ha

It's disappointing to read about the plans available for international customers.

I don't understand why they are so much more expensive than AT&T. I would think that since these carriers have a smaller footprint of land to cover, that their prices would be LESS than ours in the USA...

Are the voice plans cheaper over there so it balances out or something?

screw the 3g prices...have you SEEN the prices of the iPad compared to the USA's prices?

complete, utter and absolute rip-off in any language.

There's the traditional, fan-boy orientated unwritten 'apple tax' now there's the new ' let's screw them for whatever we feel like' for not being Americans tax

And then there's US Sales Tax, which makes the price only around £30 more over here for the cheapest one. Don't forget, you US prices you see do NOT include tax, our prices do.

There is a vast difference. The CRTC serves the Robelus, and as long as they ( CRTC )are around, they will ensure the protection of the industry, against the interests of the customer. CRTC is made up of ex industry Execs and have a history of interpreting laws to protect the industry against the interests of the consumer.

The CRTC is outdated, and needs disbanding.

It was only late last year when the government had to step in and reverse CRTCs decision against WIND - despite the fact WIND had been given the "Go" with Industry Canada. Industry Canada had established WIND's Canadian ownership but CRTC interpreted this ownership differently.

A couple months ago the government said that Canadian ownership laws should change for mobile industry, yet, a few days later, CRTC chips in its irrevelent head, and advises to keep ownership laws as is.

so what? sales tax included or not, the UK price is still exorbitant for a like for like product.

Think Orange have the best deal for iPad plans at the moment, plus their 3G coverage will be better.

I'm with O2 for my iPhone and the 3G coverage is the lowest of the 4 carriers in the UK.

I agree. £699 for the 64gb iPad 3G! About £100 more and you could get a Macbook which does hell of alot more.

Apple pushed the prices up on the Macbooks by a £100 a month or two ago. I think they did it on purpose so that they could push the price of the iPad up but still say its cheaper than a full blown laptop.

I want an iPad but I wont buy it at UK prices. I have family visiting the states in June so I will get them to bring one back for me since the 3G model works with UK sim cards anyway.

$20 for an add-on to existing data plan? What exactly is being added on?

All Rogers needs to provide is the micro sim.

Wireless providers in Canada should be audited and dismantled and broken up.

The overcharge is way too EXCESSIVE!

According to Rogers, the $20 add-on price does not exist.

The only prices that have been confirmed by Rogers are $15 for 250 MB and $35 for 5 GB. Both are confirmed to be contract-free (ie you can start and stop them at any time without penalty).

Rogers has not officially said anything at all about the possibility of using (all or a portion of) any of your other equipment's existing data plans in conjunction with the iPad.
