Happened to anyone else ?

I ordered my wifi 16gb ipad 2 on the 4th of April, it shipped on the 13th of April so how can Apple is saying its going to arrive on the 15th of April ? That seems wrong.

My iPad arrived today, running 4.3.1. I ordered at 3am March 25th.

Flagged down the TNT truck a couple streets down from my house after missing the delivery—I had a 5 minute warning "hey we're coming to your house" notification.

Oddly, the shipment was "out from Geneva for delivery" at 10:16am, and it arrived at my house at 10:38am, but I live 60 km from Geneva. Either the delivery truck was driving like a bat out of hell, or their location markings aren't totally accurate.

I have a 16 GB white one, and I haven't noticed any screen bleeding, and no dead pixels. I haven't tried using it in pitch dark yet though.

E: The delivery guy also said "enjoy your iPad" after I signed, despite it being in a plain cardboard box shipped from Foxconn in China. I guess most of his deliveries today must be iPads.

iPad delivered! Woo!

Backlight bleed!

Back it goes!

How badly does it bleed jonnyb? can you show pics? I just tought that maybe u should give it a couple of days of usage, maybe the bleeding reduces? I have read that with some users the light bleeding has gone (almost) away when they've used their iPad's some period of time. Maybe it has something to do with glue drying up?

I have 5 or 6 spots along the left hand edge (when in portrait). They're quite visible at 50% brightness in a dimly lit room.

I can make them change shape and intensity if I press lightly on the screen. I don't think it has anything to do with undried glue, therefore.

Apple is sending me a replacement which will take a few weeks and I can continue to use this one while I wait. So I hope the next one is an improvement. If this one improves in the meantime then great but I don't think it will.

I can do some pics when I get home from the office.

This really is the last time I'm ever going to order anything from the Apple online store.

OT: I must say that TNT rocks comparing to f*ckin FedEx. My DODOcase shipped march 31st and I still haven't received it  DODO has been on Clearance Delay state in Vantaa customs now for 10 days (8 business days) and there's no end in sight  I have called FedEx Finland for three times now and on the last time I was assured that FedEx has received the information I gave them for the custom procedures and everything is okey, only the clearance of my case is still ongoing and I should get my package soon. Well, that was last week and I still see red as my FedEx trackin does too "Clearance Delay"

To be fair, maybe this is because your iPad with TNT has a higher priority than your DODOcase with FedEx, the iPad being worth the amount of money it is…??

Maybe so, but the DODOcase wasn't cheap either, I payed $134.44 USD in total for it so it should have some priority as well  And anyways: it is a case, so how frigging long can it take to clear a case in customs???? Unbelievable

Still no changes here...

Ordered 25 March and it says Not Yet Shipped... It's driving me crazy when I read that everyone else has their iPad already, or at least a shipping notice. Even people who ordered 29 March!

The only thing I've heard from Apple was an email (last monday) with the information that my iPad and smartcover & dock will send seperatly.

Please can someone explain how I track my order.

I have a 10-digit number and my assigned carrier is UPS…

Edit: Ah, no worries… it has just changed to the 18-figure one. Works fine now.

Go here:

http://www.ups.com/tracking/tracking.html

Enter your tracking number and press "Track".

Now we come to the problem...you should have a tracking number that is longer than 10 digits. My iPad tracking number for UPS is an 18 digit (letter and number combo).

The easiest thing to do is log into your Apple Store account and check your order status from there. You should also find a tracking number there for use on the UPS site.

Ordered on 25th March (5pm), shipping info received 14th April, estimated delivery 18th April! (two weeks earlier!)

5 Apr 2011 10:15:34 Helsinki Shipment Received At Destination Depot.

TNT just called me to let me know that I'm gonna get my iPad 2 today :D

Hey guys and random.person,

I have finally received my iPad 2 (64Gb 3G) and I totally love it!!
There is slight backlight bleeding, but I can live with it. There is, however, an other issue that bothers me: the plastic plate with 30 pins inside the dock connector on the iPad appears to be slightly dented on one side... :( Maybe the device came with that dent, but it is also possible that the USB-cable damaged it (I inserted it with utmost care). Sad...

Congrats to all of you that already have it. I can't even track the shipment because of the weird company Apple used to send the iPad, it is supposed to arrive tomorrow but I hope it arrives today

Greetings

Marzelo, UPS delivered my Smart Cover two weeks ago and my Ipad 2 32GB will also be delivered by UPS. It is strange apple used another company for your shipment. Where in Mexico are you located? That might have something to do with it.

This is the UPS tracking info I have:

Shenzhen, China 15/04/2011 12:30 Escan de salida
15/04/2011 5:28 Escan de origen
China 15/04/2011 0:01 Pedido procesado: Listo para UPS

congrats on getting it - pleased the bleed isn't too bad. is the dent in the metal or just the plastic bit inside?

and i think the insert process on the ipad 2 is a bit more fiddly than on the first gen

Mine got here like an hour ago (im from Mexico), I checked for the backlight bleed, and I have to say that itnhave some but very slight in the corners.
My head still hurts from putting the brightness on 100%, so for me is not an issue and im very happy with my new iPad after all this wait and talking with costumer support.
