My iPhone 7 Plus had increased performance after updating to iOS 11.1 for several hours, nearly back to where it was under 10.3.3 (could unlock lock screen with a single home press), before reverting back to the somewhat pokey iOS 11 performance.

The orientation bug wasn’t fixed on my iPad Air 2. Actually it is now worse. Previously launching a landscape only app while in portrait or a portrait only app while in landscape sometimes got the orientation stuck until I completely flipped the iPad around. Today after updating to iOS 11.1, for the first time the orientation got completely stuck. I eventually managed to unstick it by toggling orientation lock off and on several times and locking and unlocking the screen several times. I haven’t had to do that since iOS 10.2.

I was also experiencing this on my Air 2 with all 11.0.x, but on 11.1 it hasn’t happened yet!

Something new for me with 11.1 - I am getting a frozen Safari. I’ll be on a webpage that is predominately text and when I perform an action: Zoom in or out, fast swipe up or down, or .. the page will freeze. I have to close Safari, kill it in task manager then reopen. This is only on my IPP 12.9 G2. I have not seen this on my 7+.

Worst part is that it’s sporadic. Grrr......

Anyone using it in an iphone 6? I'm still on 10.3.3 and I'm not updating unless it's at least as smooth.. anyone?

I am finding battery life poor (as bad as iOS 11.0.3) with 11.1 and also there is a bug when you try to stream video in Safari, the video jumps around and repeats itself. This causes a massive power drain (back of phone by the top right gets very hot and battery drops 10% watching 5 mins of video). Not impressed.

Not liking how safari slows down before reaching the top when you tap the top of the window to return to the top of the page

I'm not sure if this was in 11.0 but if you enable Reachability the area above it is no longer black, it's a blurred version of your home screen icons. Same as in the app switcher.

So far 11.1 is an improvement. Device 7+ 128GB AT&T
Still a couple of new ones...
Safari - I am running into pages that will load blank (body). Here is an example:
IMG_7950.jpg IMG_7951.jpg
Google News. - Emptied Task Manager and still had the issue. Rebooted the phone and worked fine for a bit.... o_O

Battery update - I can add in the SS if needed ....
Charged to 100%
Time 1: 94% Usage 1:12 Standby 04:51 5%/HR
Time 2: 72% Usage 4:17 Standby 13:57 7%/HR
Time 3: 56% Usage 5:34 Standby 16:07 9%/HR

My use during this test hasn't really changed:
Heckfire 27
Kindle 10
Safari 10
Mail 10
Phone 9
Home&Lock Screen 3
Messages 2
App Store 2
and a bunch of 1's.

It's like the longer I use it, the more inefficient the battery usage is.

FYI... if you’re going calculate battery efficiency like that then it will always seem less efficient the longer you use your phone. The reason being the first 100% lasts a lot longer than the 99-98 and so on

True however the drain increase is excessive.

When I put back on the charger:
Time 1: 94% Usage 1:12 Standby 04:51 5%/HR
Time 2: 72% Usage 4:17 Standby 13:57 7%/HR
Time 3: 56% Usage 5:34 Standby 16:07 9%/HR

Time 4: 38% Usage 6:25 Standby 18:06 10%/HR
Time 5: 13% Usage 7:08 Standby 19:12 12%/HR

I was used to getting 10-12 hours under 10.3.3

My assigned ringtones aren’t working anymore. It just plays the default ringtone. Anyone else?

Have someone else this kind of problem? I've found this on any iOS 11 releases including 11.1. It's weird that the widgets doesn't stay in the "more"-mode so you can see the big widget. Every time you load them they open or close depending on how they were before. On 0:04 you can see that I press the "less" (weniger) button which must normaly "more" (mehr) because it was already less. After I pressed the button two times they are right. It's a weird bug... It's irritating. They should stay in the "more"-option so I can see the whole widgetview.

Yes, I have this too on both my iPhone 5s and 6s.

I have a very strange and irritating problem with all iOS 11 versions so far, including 11.1. A couple of days after starting up my iPad, or so, the App Store stops updating applications. Clicking on the update button initiates the rotation animation, like something is being prepared, but the update never advances to the next step.

Also, downloading a new application presents the same issue. App Store never proceeds to the downloading step. The problem goes away after each restart but it returns after a few days of usage. I don't have a solution, other than simply restart the device.

Has anyone found the way to fix weather app and it's widget, it won't update and show the real results?

3D Touch in the News app is really sensitive. Anyone else having this problem?

After I restart your phone or even at random intervals, I have to re-enter my iCloud password.

The battery life is pretty bad with 11.1. I only had 11.0.3 for a few days before Apple pushed 11.1. I'm not one to update right away, but I had no choice with 11.1 because of locking up or frozen app issues with 11.0.3. I think this is probably the worst update so far pushed by Apple.

After using my X for 2 days I’m convinced that iOS 11 is really optimized for the X even though the 8 uses the same processor it’s way smoother on iOS 11 than my 8 was. Anyone else agree?

Has anyone experienced an issue with their notes app? I have multiple notes that I keep locked and when I unlock one note, it unlocks all my notes. Conversely, when I relock one note, it re-locks all the notes.

How is battery life on regular iPhone 7?

I have a 7 and didn’t notice any improvement from 11.03 to 11.1. I have followed all the recommendations to improve battery life, but for the first time in 8 yrs of iPhone ownership, it’s a problem for me.

What sort of problematic things are you experiencing as far as battery life?

I have been using the Overcast podcast app since iOS 10 and noticed a change in battery usage with iOS 11. I re-downloaded the app but no change. For example, I played a podcast this morning for 1 hour and it used 11% battery life. I’m thinking of going back to the native iOS podcast app.
