Sure that's not inconvenient and extra clicks at all. You could always go there to toggle off your connections too. Why screw my workflow over to make you happy?

Why screw with everyone else’s workflow by switching it back to the old way? Apple can see what customers are doing with their connections. I would assume this choice was made based on the decisions customers use every day.

You have to stop defending it. It was a crap dick move by Apple. Just cuz you are ok with losing a feature does not mean the majority of us are.
Ah, yes, the usual "if you are not with us then you are against us". I didn't even say anything about myself and pointed out a number of others in this thread alone who have posted about it. But it's not like actual reality can be brought up and discussed as that would just inconveniently get in the way of being on the extremes.

Explain how you make use of it?

It's an unnecessary change, at least give me a hard press toggle option so "we" can enjoy the best of both worlds...
Feel free to read various posts on the first page of this thread, just as an example. (And, realistically speaking the option is there, disconnect from control center and actually disable from settings. That said, could it be made even better through 3D Touch or something else of that nature? Yeah, most likely.)

Anyone arguing with apple that is is a "feature" is delusional!

OFF should = OFF and ON should = ON. Period.

If Apple wants to build in some kind of "AUTO" option for all the tech illiterate users out there, that's great. But to change the basic function of an ON/OFF switch to anything but ON/OFF is misleading, deceptive and dangerous! The toggles shouldn't even exist if they are not going to do what they represent they do.

LOL OK.... surrrrrreeee. Yeah, you are soooo correct. Having 2 antennas broadcasting DOes nOt drain extra batter.. uummkkkaaayy.

You are not being saturated by your device in your pocket within 5mm to your skin with other antennas, now are you?

You might want to research the effects of radiation and antennas from your cell phones before responding like fake news.

Both of your responses are false, SORRY.
Dear lord... How many times does one need to explain that keeping WiFi off makes you use your GPS for location instead, which is much more battery intensive? On Bluetooth, you’re still dealing with the ghost of pre-low power Bluetooth. I’m glad I can now disconnect my Bluetooth headphones without killing connections with my Apple Watch, Apple Pencil, AirDrop, AirPlay, Handoff and Continuity, thank you, sir.

Where does it say it is an off button, it is now a disconnect button.

You’re wrong. A Bluetooth toggle should disconnect from whichever device I am using without crippling my Apple Watch and Apple Pencil use. It doesn’t take a genius to figure that. (Unless you believe in urban myths like radiation and energy use by low powered Bluetooth... I wonder what part of “Low power” in Low Power Bluetooth do people not understand...).

The new way is much better. When I get to my car for example at work, it has a very weak connection to wifi. I don't want to turn off wifi, I want to just disconnect from work. The old way I would forget to turn wifi back on.
So the rest of us have to adapt to what you want? When a simple setting toggle or long press/force touch would give everyone what they want? Hmm

What i never understood

Airplane mode = Orange, why?
Rotation Lock = Red, why?
Mobile Data = Green, why?
yet Wifi & Bluetooth = Blue, why?
Others = White, why?

Que???

What feature do you "think" you lost? Actually We gained a feature. One I and many other use every day. Maybe you'd prefer Android. Best of luck.

Or maybe more people like the new way, not saying there shouldn't be some middle ground, but just because you don't like it doesn't mean there is several valid reasons no to have this feature.

Every option is different. DND is white with purple. Rotation lock is white with red. Also, when hotspot is one wifi is white and hotspot is green.

They are turned off to SAVE BATTERY DURPA-DURRRR Apple!

I want my OFF toggles back. I understand how to manage my antennas I don't need to be antenna coddled by Apple's OS.

We should be able to swap the toggles out or HOLD on the WiFi Bluetooth to switch them OFF!

So STUPID.
Sorry who is the stupid here. Turning off bt doesn’t save you any energy at all. Turning WiFi off introduces only inconveniences and saves what over the day? 3%?
You probably go through the non sense routine of killing all apps in the background which actually kills battery life rather than saving it. You deserve an android phone

Echoing support of the new functionality, I love that the control center is now for toggling temporary disconnections instead of permanent on/off switches since that hits 95% of my use case for turning on and off the radios before. As wifi and bluetooth have expanded from being basic single use connectivity for internet and maybe a bluetooth headset, to being necessary for many fundamental OS features (quicker geopositioning, handoff, etc...), this is a good change imo. Certainly customizing the control center would be a welcome change, and better communicating these are no longer on/off switches is important, but the new behavior makes a good sane default.

I never get an answer in these threads. What problem are you trying to solve by turning off Wi-Fi?

Being tracked? Apple already anonymizes your MAC address.

Battery life? It has no noticeable effect. If anything, lack of Wi-Fi means the far battery-hungrier GPS will kick in more often.

Radiation? No scientific basis.
