Clearly we need Apple Team Animoji to fix iTunes* and build the mMac Pro. They seem to be the only ones doing anything.
*This is a metaphor for everything wrong with Apple software.
Happily looking foward to all can go wrong hence we get compensated with Animoji's

Make Control Center accessible from the bottom again for X, please??? Going all the way up to the right side to pull down what are supposed to be the most frequently used apps, is still the most awkward movement even after 3 months of having the phone.

I feel like they gave up on notifications. For the life of me I can’t figure out why the swipe down turns into the lock screen with the clock and screen taking up a significant portion of space.
At some point, notifications alone will make people switch to Android

Here's why we want iMessages in the Cloud: When you format your mac or even turn it off while on Vacation, those messages don't go to it. So when you format, you have no messages to start. And when you turned off your computer or deactivated imessages while you're away, then you are missing all those messages as well. So everything is then out of sync.

Ah, now I get it. I see the reason for the dust up now.

It's actually not only iMessages but all message types. Common misconception :)

Not sure what you mean??

WhatsApp for example I can view on my iPhone and my MacBook Pro. If I delete the message on my MacBook Pro it deletes on my phone and vice versa.

I can back them up to iCloud so when I get a new phone I install the app and download back to the phone again.

It’s really not that hard and I’m not sure what the hold up for Apple is.

They can’t even get mail notifications right. If I get an email and respond to it on my phone. It still shows the notification on my iPad and MacBook Pro. Even if it becomes a several email thread. I have to physically go into the app on each device for it to clear and catch up. Again not hard to sort but Apple seem incapable.

Outlook for iOS on the other hand can do it no problem.

I doubt messages in the cloud ever happens. If they allow it, the feds will be able to get a search warrant and Apple will have to comply.
Unless it's only metadata in the cloud and storage exclusively local. Which may be daunting to implement in a solid (bugfree) manner as temp. cached cloud-based copies to ensure integrity with bad connections won't work...

They need to bring out updates more often...but we know why they are delaying it...to transition to ios 12

This is great stuff but where is the iMessage in the Cloud that was promised at last years WDC??

Still negotiating prices to sell your messages to the CIA and NSA... Apple wants more $ than the GOV wants to spend. Thus the delay.

Why would it be any different to the situation with iCloud (or any IMAP) email? You can apply exactly the same logic to that, but it still exists.

Control center is not supposed to be the most frequently used apps. The dock is supposed to be the most frequently used apps. Control center is intended to be quicker access to things that used to be buried in the settings app, but which still are not accessed all that often.

No they wouldn't. The messages would be stored encrypted in the cloud, and only the user's devices would have the private keys, Apple wouldn't.

Why no Battery Percentage indicator?

There is a battery percentage indicator. What are you referring to?

Feels odd that a feature like Animoji needs to be enabled via a software patch. Apple should really look at decoupling these kind of stuff from the core OS and maybe look into App Store updates or even cloud updates for such minor stuff?
They need something to trick the teenagers into getting the security updates.

so instead of getting rid of the annoying top notch and bumpers on the side, Apple focuses on some silly feature geared to 10 year olds. Well we know where this is heading... straight to the toilet.

Sshhhh... don't tell anyone I told you this, but iOS 11.4 will get rid of the notch and bumpers, the software engineers are working hard at it as we speak, but some of them got reallocated to drawing bears and skulls because software engineers are renowned for their artistic abilities. ;)

I know you have to swipe down. I mean like previous iPhones, percentage number can be turned on to be visible at all times.

With all the buggy crap on IOS 11 can't Apple maybe spend some time correcting known problems before adding completely useless features?

Oh, you mean iPhone x. They won't add it back until there's a smaller notch or more room on the sides of the notch (e.g. iPhone XI+)

They really want animojis to be a thing. Personally I have used it one time. I know others might find more benefit or enjoyment than myself... but i can't imagine any significant number of people care about it.

Music videos in Apple Music? I'm actually kind of excited about this. Though perhaps it should be called Apple Multimedia at that point.

Also, I don't understand what the hoopla is about iMessages in the Cloud? They're synced across all devices anyway (except for my SE without a SIM in it for some reason).

Apple Music always has had Music Videos. I guess it’s just a more convenient way to view them

they could just put the percentage inside the battery bar

I’ve had it turned off since the first iOS 11 betas on my iPhone 7, and better off without it. So much less battery anxiety.
