Even that hideous new control panel is here to stay.

Speaking of which, I read an apt description of the iPad's control center/app switcher. The tech reviewer called it "visual soup" ! Indeed.

I still don't get why people would buy a 'primary' Apple Watch, much less a secondary device.

They wouldn't unless they are a watch "collector" like some people I've known. Apple's cautionary advice is a CYA in case you become frustrated while using the beta. If people aren't acquainted with the nature of beta software, they could blame Apple for not disclosing the expected performance troubles.

Beta or Alpha has nothing to do with how far along in development the software is. It is about who has access to do it's testing. Since we aren't the ones developing the software, it is a beta.
Thanks for clarifying but yet there is a correlation with quality and the increasing flood of beta's.
This completely undocumented trajectory, and its impact, overhead and complications offering so little perspective/rewards has come to refrain me from participating.

For me with an Apple Watch. I am not paying that much for a watch that has to be upgraded every year or two. That doesn’t even do that much now. And it just be another device added to my list of stuff to upgrade when a new one comes out.

What is the point of having Messages on the Cloud? I have it enabled and it shows it has been fully synced, but still have all my messages being stored on the device. I thought it was supposed to store them on the cloud?

But I have an iCloud backup for that...........Something is missing from this.

It keeps your messages in sync between devices. Before when you deleted on your phone it didn’t delete on your iPad or Mac. Also, if you setup a new device and don’t restore from a backup you don’t get your old messages. Now you do. So say you picked up your first MacBook. All your messages will now be there.

It would be nice, now with Messages stored in the cloud, if we had the ability to text with Messages from our Windows based PC’s via iCloud.com.

I guarandamntee it's not.

This would require work by each provider that wants to integrate with Apple's proprietary SSO framework-- Apple can't simply add providers by themselves.

Apple is probably exposing the new providers in the list and delivering the error message as a way to "encourage" the providers to do the work to support Apple SSO.

I believe (but not 100% sure) that iOS 11 enables an alternative approach which enables each provider to use their own login page rather than Apple's XML template; and therefore more flexible than apple's current iOS10 requirement of username/password only.

It's possible that if you've already previously signed in to an app using Adobe Primetime (and most of them are), Adobe may be passing that authentication token on to Apple...

https://blogs.adobe.com/primetime/2...to-advance-the-tv-everywhere-user-experience/

I only signed to XfinityTV App in the past, not to Adobe Primetime.

3D App Switcher is back in Beta 3 :)

How does this feature work, not sure if I'm familiar!?

I don’t have the usage option in “cellular”. I’m on sunrise in Switzerland

Concerning the US I think T-Mobile is the most forward thinking iPhone carrier.

- TV Providers - Comcast, Cox, AT&T U-verse, Verizon Fios, Time Warner Cable, and more are all listed as new providers in the TV Providers section of the Settings app in iOS 11 beta 3, and they appear to allow users to take advantage of Single sign-on.

Everything I're read suggests Comcast has no interest in allowing single-sign-on for Apple TV users.
