You don’t have to hold your thumb on the button (or show your face) at precisely the moment you’re actually paying. I presume when you pay with cash or card you don’t stand motionless until the very second you have to pay, then act surprised about it. Take your phone out, activate Apple Pay and then pay when the cashier is ready. What is so hard about this?

Usually the phone is in my pocket, taking it out when the terminal is ready to accept payment because guess what, it literally takes me 2 seconds to pull the phone out of my pocket and put it on the terminal with my thumb on the touchID and then right back into my pocket so I can leave.

How hard can it be to **cking see this! It's obvious that the faceID will recognize your face quickly. The scan area will be very wide to grab asap. You won't have to move your ahead above the phone or put it in front of your face. Geez!! Why would they make it any harder than touchID, why would they?

Are you serious right now? Did you completely miss the new MBP lineup? It's more difficult to use the new MBPs NOW, in the name of moving technology forward to make it easier LATER.

You don't have to fathom anything. Just wait two days and see it demonstrated. If Apple's FaceID implementation is too cumbersome for you, you can always get one of the other phones they announce. Or wait another year in hopes that Apple solves the technical problems with getting TouchID to work through the OLED display.

Yeah, lets all just come to a rumor site and not discuss anything until the product is finally out. Genius!

I was wondering that too. Apple probably has an elegant method that we haven't thought of, but once we see it, we'll think "of course! It's so obvious!"

That's what I'm hoping. What I'm really excited to see is what they do with the extra screen real estate from removing the top/bottom bezels.

Last minute call:

It was also 10 years ago, minus 2 days, that apple launched it first iPod Touch.
What about an iPod Touch edition/X as an anniversary model?
It really is one of those last minute surprises apple could give us.

Perhaps just slightly redesigned but with the new facial cam/ID.

An iPod Touch with the facial cam, would be great step up device for children to get used to the facial recognition and play with Snapchat, animated emoticons And AR for a decent price.
Won’ t have an high end oled, but ips and it won’ t be too expensive , so it is great for kids. and it will fill the gap after Apple kind of abandoned the cheaper ipad minis and introducing the cheap 2017 9.7 ipad.

So new AirPods, new HomePod and a new iPod.(touch)

There hasn't been a mind-blowing feature or keynote since Steve did the iPhone 4 one.
Exactly! Hopefully one day we'll all watch the keynote and be astounded about what they are releasing. Sadly, I don't think that day will be today...
