So they have "Type to Siri", but they still kept Spotlight and "Type to Siri" as 2 separate type-to-search user interfaces? Weird.

Edit: somebody with access to the dev preview care to compare results of "Type to Siri" with regular Spotlight search? Are the two completely unified or giving different results?
This is a really dumb confusion that hopefully will get weeded out by the fall

That's absolutely cool after all the time with the light fonts.
A not so subtle rebranding to say "hey, we're back and making an impression!". First time in years that I'm even a little excited after an Apple announcement. FINALLY a lot of updates. Most of which should have been done years ago.

Software, hardware AND attitude.

Where are all the "doomed, doomed, doomed" nahsayers now? What are they going to whinge about? There seems to be something for almost everybody this year.

Even the speaker that's coming: looks simple, hides complexity. Almost like the Apple approach of years ago! Fingers crossed it sounds good.

Pretty disappointed they still don't do live previews when scrubbing a video using the Video app. Very useful when trying to look for a scene in a movie or TV show. It's already system-wide on the Apple TV and every other major video streaming service does it already too. Hope this is added before the final release.

"Type to Siri" will make Siri work 29% of the time, instead of 18%! Hurray!

Really, is it that bad for you? I reckon it is 95+% these days. WAAAAAAAY better than when it was introduced. If you only get 29% then perhaps your typing is an issue? ;)

People just like to joke about it and the reality is different. Even Maps isn't as bad as when it was released. That was a clear cock up that should have been stopped before rollout. Everyone makes mistakes...

Can someone upload that semi-dark mode pictures? which UI elements are not dark?

The new control center looks super awkward and ugly! Better off to two different pages.

Also, bad news for everything not supporting force touch.

Problem w/ force touch is that it is a hidden function. To my mind it would be helpful if there was some indicator (perhaps to be turned on/off in settings, maybe something like an outline around possible targets) that would show the user that there is a force touch feature available.

Those new music controls on the lockscreen do my head in. They also do not seem to support cover art of third party music apps and once u listened to music that ugly control panel doesnt seem to go away from te lockscreen? Juck

And why is everything so damn bold with a lack of transparency yet its not everywhere and isnt there an option for those "blind people" in the settings anyway?

I think primitive scrubbing and generally weak features in the iOS video app drives customers out of iTunes and into the arms of competitors with better video players.

Also plea could improve the experience here.

The truth is, people complained about it being on two pages, even tech blogs complained. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

To be fair, people and tech blogs have complained about all kinds of things for years which are still there (or aren't there, depending on the complaint). Hard to say how much of an impact it all has or can have.
