I haven't received one facetime call while this "bug" existed. I have, on the other hand, had so many older family and friends reach out to me DEATHLY CONCERNED about this bug. I suspect, however, that none of them received any facetime calls during this time period either. I just laughed each time and said if you get a FT call and you don't want to take it, just turn the phone off. You cant be spied on if your phone isn't on... or not that we know of (I left that last part out of course).

When have you last heard from the family you've terrified? Do they even get reception in their cave bunker?

So is Group FaceTime re enabled server side? Or do they wait for a certain percent to upgrade? Those on 12.1.3 will still be vulnerable correct?
The server could easily enough check the protocol version on the incoming client requests, and refuse to connect clients that are using vulnerable software. If the software is/was forward-thinking enough, that rejection would include a message to be displayed on the client device, so it can say, "please upgrade to iOS 12.1.4 to participate".

Very strange. Pressed install, and it asked for my passcode, but also said I'd had three failed attempts already. It was definitely my first.

Anyway, installing now. Fingers crossed lol.
That is because of the passcode bug which won't be public another month or two. We are all waiting for the bounty porgram :apple::D

I figure I may as well do it now. Who knows how many have heard me give off various gas ;).

I was able to do it on my iPhone, then again some are able to get it at various time. I will have to do the iPads and Mac later.

It showed up for me a few minutes later.

Glad they fixed this. Sorry we will hear people ranting on about it for years.

Is CarPlay being updated with those updates? Or is it just abandoned?

Probably it allows the service based on the iOS version.

Should they have rushed out a fix to save a week? They disabled it on the server side.

You people are priceless.
Glad you appreciate me. I'm always glad to be a bright spot in someone's day.

You are right. I completely agree that they shouldn't have rushed it out. But why must they say one thing and then do another? They should have never said that they would release it by last week and never follow through. I'm glad they put more time into it to perfect it. But the old saying still holds, "Say what you mean and mean what you say"

Will update ALL devices to iOS 12.1.4 & see if there are any changes to "Buffer Pool" issue.

Will Post Results later today.

It's a BIGGIE.

Really? Broaden your imagination. This is a _huge_ tool for companies for communicating when they can’t congregate together or if employees are spread about, or family members that are set apart that can’t can see each other regularly.

The Agency that I work for, is already planning on using group FaceTime for when we have a scheduled meeting, when not all the employees can attend because we work different shifts/hours. I would say this a nice advantage to have when I can be at home and talk to my supervisor/other fellow colleagues direct with this new feature.
I just believe that the Skype app is more popular since it is available across all platforms: Mac OS, iOS, and Windows. Its more inclusive with other hardware than FaceTime is. But I can also see how FaceTime is useful to a business using all Apple products.

I'm assuming as usually is the case for something kike this, that it's this is probably not yet in the beta, but I'm not sure.

Please Apple...in this day and age of unlimited data plans....Please let me install while I'm at work on cellular.
I have unlimited data....let me at least have the option to down load and install on cellular

Still really digging the all caps "MAJOR" in the title of the video, but I think the thumbnail needs more work to really grab people's attention.

I presume Group FaceTime is re-enabled server side for all those who make a FaceTime call with the newest version of iOS. It probably remains disabled for earlier versions.
Are you trying to apply for a job at macrumors? Lol

Your carrier throttles you...nothing is truly unlimited.

Group FaceTime has been enabled again BUT only those iOS devices that have updated to 12.1.4 will be allowed to use it. So if you are on iOS 12.1.3 you will not be able to use Group FaceTime until you update.
