Ok great, thanksI just did a speed test, and it seems good... same as before the update.

True...but Apple should let us make the decision to download while on cellular imhoYour carrier throttles you...nothing is truly unlimited.
This article is about iOS, so I assumed that's what you were talking about.wtf?
Only Apple can do this.
Imagine if this problem was on Android, users would be waiting for years (probably forever) for an update fix it.
How do i rollback the 12.2 beta so I can get this?
They don't want to allow an unstable LTE connection and brick your phone.True...but Apple should let us make the decision to download while on cellular imho

Not sure about that...they do a checksum validation on the update after it is downloaded...even on WiFi. If there is any data corruption then the update is aborted or re-downloaded.They don't want to allow an unstable LTE connection and brick your phone.
Anyone else kind of disappointed with Apple's release notes?
"iOS 12.1.4 provides important security updates and is recommended for all users."
Just be straight up and state exactly what it fixes. I know all of us here are always on the cutting edge of Apple news, but the average user may not have even heard about or been made aware of the FaceTime issue. Let's be honest, Apple messed up. Not to say no one else messes up and even worse, but it happened. ALL the customers should be aware that these kinds of bugs make it through sometimes, and then each of us can make an educated decision on whether we want to continue using this product or not. For me, I'll stay with Apple for now. I never use FaceTime and no one has tried to FaceTime me since the buggy update went out, so I'm not too concerned personally, but to know that there might be some major bug like this that I might never know about unless I read about it on MacRumors just doesn't sit well with me. As a customer, I have usually assumed that Apple mentions major things in their update notes, but seeing the way this one was pushed out with the general "security updates" garbage that tells us literally nothing just busts my bubble a little bit and makes me realize that I will have to check a second source whenever Apple tells us anything. I usually do that anyways, but with Apple I had a little more trust.
To be fair it does say to check and links to the Apple security page for more information.Anyone else kind of disappointed with Apple's release notes?

If you click the link provided in the update for more info, it clearly shows FaceTime, Live Photos, memory corruption and kernel vulnerability.
True, but again, the average user probably does not click the link. They see the update, think "Oh just the usual security updates," and move on with life. I'm fine with that kind of nothing update note on little things like moved a button 2 pixels to the left or fixed the way the second hand moves on the clock app, but for a major bug like this the customer should be made aware as easily as possible. It sort of reminds me of the whole battery optimization update that slowed the processor down occasionally. Like, they said what the update was without really saying what the update was.To be fair it does say to check and links to the Apple security page for more information.
Not really sure how much that might factor into it. WiFi connections can have instability as well. Even that aside, connectivity type of things shouldn't result in something like the device being bricked--if the update doesn't download properly then it won't get validated and won't get installed, so nothing should change when it comes to the device being in a working state. They don't want to allow an unstable LTE connection and brick your phone.
It has to be related. Why would they otherwise care if you downloaded over LTE? They probably also don't want to be blamed for people going over data limits. Not really sure how much that might factor into it. WiFi connections can have instability as well. The latter is more like it. Also potentially related that carriers don't necessarily want to be overloaded with too many devices asking for potentially rather large downloads more or less at the same time. In some part this might be something left over from a previous time when LTE wasn't around and data was more limited on carriers. It has to be related. Imagine if everyone did this when Apple released software updates. What do you think the consequences are? Please Apple...in this day and age of unlimited data plans....Please let me install while I'm at work on cellular.
I have unlimited data....let me at least have the option to down load and install on cellular
A week behind what? Your time table? It’s about time Apple. Only a week behind......but who even uses Group FaceTime anyways? Might as well update just in case
Maybe ios 13 will have an always on display at least on their oled models. As far as the other issue, not sure what is the issue. I've never had an issue with flights (or the calendar) in any time zone.
Haha. No. A week behind when they said they would release the update to begin with. They initially promised a fix by the end of last week, however we ended up having to wait till the end of this week to get it.A week behind what? Your time table?
Sounds like during the process of fixing one issue they worked on some others as well which perhaps needed more time. Should that have rushed to get it out incomplete in some way because they originally hoped to have it resolved last week (especially if Group FaceTime was already disabled and the issue wasn't exploitable at that time)? Fairly basic reality in play it seems.Haha. No. A week behind when they said they would release the update to begin with. [doublepost=1549598387][/doublepost]Does anyone know anything about this information regarding Google release by Apple Insider? Let me know if this is new information or not

Really? Think about the logic behind Apple doing something stupid like that. They re-enabled Group FaceTime server-side... does that mean users who haven't installed iOS 12.1.4 will be vulnerable?
