They don't want to allow an unstable LTE connection and brick your phone.

But it wouldn’t, the update isn’t installed on the fly as it’s downloading, that would be stupid and dangerous. It’s updated after it’s all downloaded, so would make no difference how fast or stable the internet connection is.

Just installed the iOS update and group face time is not available. Anyone else also having this problem?

Edit: The "add a person" button is greyed out.

Same here, I’ve tried it with FT with 3 different persons and the “add person” option is greyed out, they were all updated to 12.1.4 as well, and they cannot add an extra person either to the session.

Edit: you can still do Group FaceTime with multiple people as long as you start the session by adding multiple people via the + sign and in the To: field.
however, you are not able to add additional participants after the FaceTime session has already started, which previously was possible.

Okay, that's good to know that I'm not alone with the issue :) Hopefully that gets fixed soon.

Edit: I also made a separate thread about this issue: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ios-12-1-4-group-facetime-still-not-available.2169026/

Really? If it was android FaceTime would be a standalone app and they could have pushed an update through the app store..
Assuming that the underlying issue is with something specific to that and not with something that is more general/underlying and how it can be used by other apps.

[doublepost=1552153547][/doublepost]As of 8am this morning the Facetime bug is back. I sent a bug report to Apple. Can be reproduced if you have an Android user in your messaging group. If you try to facetime the Android user it will facetime audio connect to the other members of group with iPhones without their knowledge.

Without their knowledge? Meaning the iPhones don't ring, and you can hear their audio, or see their video?
