Pretty certain the people who work on emoji art are not software of hardware engineers, but kudos for posting the most senseless opinion so far.

Never said they were.

It's about allocation of resources. Apple doesn't have an infinite hiring budget. But they clearly thought emojis were important enough for iOS 13.2.

If we would’ve just kept everyone yellow and genderless we wouldn’t need all these ridiculous combinations. At the rate we’re going, we’ll soon need a couple depicting a Latin-American cougar female and her younger Anglo lover.

Also, if they’re going to keep adding emojis every 17 seconds, at least give us the option to the hide/delete/organize in a way we see fit for our personal use.

These threads always a spectacle when Apple adds new emoji. It’s the same as adding compatibility for any other Unicode character so it doesn’t just show up as a box. Never understood why anyone here is so bitter about emoji, of all things.

(The #1 answer seems to be Apple’s incompetence in other areas—granted—but it implies that their graphic designers and their engineers are even remotely working on similar things…)

Ever notice that the people who hate on emojis are usually terrible at understanding that people think differently than them? Especially online?

Emojis help clarity and understanding. They help bring back the non-verbal cues lost in online communication.

I think people who have trouble empathizing (understanding others, not sympathizing) have trouble seeing the benefit of deeper-than-verbal communication.

Empathy is just understanding others.
It has nothing to do with progressiveness or conservativeness.
It is a very different thing than sympathy.

Improving your empathy is one of the most OP life skills imaginable.

Understanding (while not necessarily agreeing with) the person you’re dealing with can help literally everybody in literally every field.

i could agree more, just not sure how emojis tie into that. :)

You're the person who needs telling in every single one of these posts that the emoji illustrators have nothing to do with battery drain and mail client developers.

yes, yes and yes. While my mails need to be pulled on my own, my HomeKit can‘t be controlled outside of my local WiF, I‘m happy to hear that there‘s someone who integrates more emojis so I could tell everyone how excited I‘m about this.
