So, dark mode wooooo and all that, but has anyone else been using the smart invert colors feature as a substitute dark mode? It's actually pretty functional for most things and it works to introduce a pseudo dark mode into apps that otherwise wouldn't be touched by a system level update. Map that to triple-click on the power switch and boom; instant dark mode on demand.

I can see the 6 being supported for one more year but I agree I think this might be the end of the line for the 5S which if you ask me has had an incredible lifecycle.
The only reason I include the 6 is because of their 1GB RAM and the 6 Plus' tendency to be a slow piece of ****. As a former 6 Plus owner, the screen size was awesome, but the performance was garbage. I can see the 6S and SE being supported for another several years like the 5S because they have everything they need to keep going.

Fair point about the 6. I must admit, for me I never had any issues for my 6 but with my friend, she was threatning to throw her 6 out the window because of how slow it was.

No matter what they do you’ll still have Mac users complaining that they can’t go iPad Pro even though they never give a reason why they need to go iPad Pro.

Mark my words. They'll find a reason to only permit iPhone 7 and newer to upgrade. Everyone else will have to buy new phones if they want the cool, new features.

Which was generally not the case for the past several years of iOS, unless it was a hardware constraint. What makes you think this year would be different?

Highly, highly unlikely. They'll probably kill off devices with the A7 chip (though it'd be a pleasant surprise if they didn't), but A8/A8X and later should be just fine.

I could see the iPhone 6 not getting it. I could see them making it only available to devices with 2Gb ram. If my iPad Air 2 doesn’t get it I’ll be pretty frustrated. That device is still runnning like a champ.

oh, I do like that idea! i used to have a dimmed mode mapped to my home button. but this is a nice idea too. I have yet to add a Triple-Click to my new phone. i didn't even think about how without a home button.

Images and videos look like an acid trip though...

Not sure where you're getting that from- in the past few iOS releases, Apple has usually had some straggler devices that got the update when no one thought it would have. I wouldn't be surprised if pre-2 GB RAM devices will be let out though.

I don’t think they’ll ditch A8 devices this year, unless the iPod touch and iPad mini is rushed out before WWDC. Even then it would be rare to see Apple ditch software support a few months after discontinuing a product.

They need to push forward. Yesterday proved that their phones are too good and last too long. I see at least SE and 5S dropping support.

I like CarPlay, but I would LOVE it if they made split-screen apps possible. I hate having to switch between the music screen and the Maps screen. I don't need a giant interface for both (especially music). It's frustrating when your car's default, built-in home screen can incorporate all that stuff and more, and the "advance" CarPlay system can't.

Apple has been guilty of a lot of sins but, especially with IOS 12, having the OS cripple a phone by itself hasn’t happened. The entire reason I ended up with an iPhone was when I wanted to upgrade my Android to a current version I found out that I couldn’t. My phone wasn’t recent enough. Look at the different Android phones then look at the OS they support. Just like in the Apple world the expensive phones can accept updates longer. The only advantage, and in a world where old OS’s means security risk, is it’s evidently easier to move backwards to an older OS on Android.

How about the mail app handling attachments normally?

We need things fixed, not magazine subscriptions.

I can see Craig Federighi on stage now with this top 10 features of iOS 13:
1) Dark Mode
2) Carplay updates
3) Magazine subscription
4) Mail handing attachments normally
5) ...

Please Apple make it so CarPlay has a split screen mode. I want to see the current music that is playing while also showing the map/directions. Bugs me that I can't see current music information if I'm following directions on the map screen or while in any other app.

Multiple Do Not Disturb schedules, please! Been sending in feedback requests for a long time and this would make my wife very happy! Happy wife happy life! You know it!

I didn’t have it long after I installed it, but I installed IOS 12 on my 6 Plus and it ran so well, and the new iPhones were so expensive, that if I wasn’t having screen problems on the 6 I definitely would not have upgraded my phone.
