iOS 14.2 Beta 2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

So what’s they deal? We go striaght from 14.0.1 to 14.2? There won’t be a 14.1? 🧐

As said before, in one of these threads, 14.1 will be on the new phones. It’s possible we will get 14.1 in the week the new phones come out (the Wednesday or Thursday), or even next week.

With how wacky everything's been lately, I wouldn't be surprised if we get 14.1.1 before we get 14.1, seeing as though 14.1 is already out on the phones. At least that's what's been reported before. Would be strange to get an update that'd probably need additional bug fixes right away? I'm still thinking 14.1's initial release will be 14.1.1

Didn't mean to imply that. What I meant was that these are new iOS features that will be introduced with the iPhone 12 phones. I think their presence on our devices now likely means that they will be available to them as well.

Any one has reported issues with WhatsApp? I can’t watch videos (still image) and I can’t do a backup of my chat (stucked at 300MB)

I restore iPhone with full back up but get the same
 
Anyone else having issues with the proximity sensor not turning off the screen in you answer a call via the incoming call notification banner? I thought it had been fixed but the issue seems to have cropped back up for me after installing beta 2
 
edit: never mind. These were sent to my other phone but I don’t have forwarding turned on that ohonr.

I'm not sure I've seen this on here so I thought I'd ask. Anyone get "ghost" Messages? I hear the tone but when I go to look there aren't any. When I checked my MBP, it's there but not on my iPhone nor my iPad. I do have message forwarding turned on since it came as SMS and not iMessage.

Couple of newish ones ...
Will post screenshots later when I can get to my MB and edit the screenshots. Neither my IPP11 nor 11PM will allow me save edited photos.

In Mail, I get the notice I have unread mail - badges. Open the Mail app and it shows a count, in this latest instance, of 5 unread emails. All the accounts show 0. A manual refresh gets rid of the Unread count and badge. No new emails show up.

Took screenshots of the issue on my 11PM and went to AirDrop them onto my IPP11. After clicking AirDrop it just kept saying “Waiting...”. Killed that and tried the reverse; same issue. Had to reboot both devices to get AirDrop to work.

Mail issue previously reported.

Just realized that I am missing over 400 photos from ... Photos.
Thankfully I backup to Google Drive as some were from a vacation last year.
Don’t know if occurred during the update or ...

Either way ... Reported

Not sure this is specifically due to the beta 2 and I have posted in the App Library thread.

Not sure when it happened. These are changes since last Thursday. After beta 2 came out and after I initially checked them for b2.

11 PM on 14.2 b2
  • My Recently Added has some new ones ... sadly they are all apps I have had for a long while. Example: Citi Mobile and Quakefeed - not sure why they were moved here
  • My Productivity & Finance - my top 3 should be Gmail, Mail, ProtonMail, Files, or Notes. Instead I have GMail, Discover, and Chase. I only hit the bank apps every week or two.
  • My Travel - my top 3 should be Google Maps, Maps, and Street View. Instead I have Google Maps, Enterprise, and Google Earth. Enterprise I have not used since last year. Google Earth just a test for beta 2 to see if it works.
  • My Utilities - my top 3 should be Safari, Blink, Settings, Clock, or Calculator (RPN). Instead I have Compass, Setting, and Home. Home I do not use for anything. Not even set up.
  • My Other now contains Google Home and Pinterest.
  • My Social has changed to now include basic communication while dropping other Social Networking apps.
Changes I can see. Basic functions not working, again is something else.
If there are Folder/App changes, somehow the users need to know.
 
I’m not seeing it on Appleseed. I have the new watchOS beta, though.

Edit: I had to remove and reinstall the profile.

How come we can hold down on Now Playing in the control panel and get a pop up for albums and controls but they can’t put that same feature on the actual music widget?
