how frequent? this beta hasn’t been out a whole 24 hrs so it’s hard to answer your question

I installed beta 4 last night not used my phone all night. Went on it this morning and it froze in app switcher and locked up for about 5 seconds then caught up with itself.

Surprised to see that this bug from iOS 13 is still around...

When attempting to send a message effect in the Messages app, this happens:

EDIT: Actually, I guess this is what happens when you attempt to send a message effect to someone you don’t already have a conversation with. If I just try to send an effect to a random contact out of the blue, I see that prompt. However, if it’s someone I already have a conversation thread with, it works fine. I guess that makes sense. Sort of.

Anyone experiencing an issue with Hey Siri? Only time it “listens” is when connected up during CarPlay. Doesn’t work on my iPhone 11 Pro. I’ve tried turning off Hey Siri, setting it back up, doesn’t fix the issue. Tried on a charging cable thinking that’s the issue since it works during CarPlay when wired. Issue was there in Beta 3 and reported it and reported it again just now. Not sure if it was present in Beta 2, but pretty sure it worked in Beta 1.
Working fine for me iPhone 11. I don't have/use Carplay.

Had this issue with my iPad on beta 3 and now on my phone with beta 4.

Still unable to trigger shortcut for WiFi in shortcuts and automation in this latest beta. Prompted error communicating with app.

I've been using it heavily and haven't had any crashes/hangs. Compared to starting out with Beta 3, this version seems to work a lot better.

I’m very tempted to jump on the public beta whenever that’s updated assuming the resprings have been fixed...

Even though it’s still early doors, the latest feedback seems quite positive...

I missed 3D Touch so much. That’s why I’m upgrading to an Xs Max instead of an 11 Pro Max. Once that’s reached the end of its life, I’ll have to bite the bullet and move to long press.

I upgraded from XS Max to 11 Pro last October. I liked 3D Touch and was expecting I'd miss it. But long-press haptic on the 11 Pro has been perfectly satisfactory for me - on iOS 13. The first iOS14 beta I installed was beta 3, and long press has become looooonnnnnnggggg press. I'm assuming that this is just a beta thing, and that it'll be faster in a later beta if not the public release.

I mean no disrespect toward the many folks here who are unhappy about Apple's removal of 3D Touch. I'm not at all saying you are wrong, and I have much empathy for the frustration you feel about the removal of a feature you liked.

But for some of us, it's really not a big deal. (well, except on the iOS 14 early betas)

(That said, @TheSkywalker77 the XS Max is a really excellent phone and I'm sure you'll be happy with it. It's also slightly lighter than the 11 Pro Max, in case that matters.)

Back on topic now the vile stench has dissipated, I’m very tempted to jump on the public beta whenever that’s updated assuming the resprings have been fixed...

I jumped in to iOS 14 with public beta 3 two weeks ago. My experience has been really excellent for an early beta. I've had almost no issues. Even battery is decent, like 7.5 to 8.5 hours on my iPhone 11 Pro which normally gets 9-10 hours. The Alto games are a bit wiggy but all the apps I rely on are working perfectly, including banking apps which have not worked on early betas of previous major new iOS versions.

Of course, YMMV.

In reading this thread, I see lots of people having issues with beta 4. I don't know if that means it's a step backward from beta 3, since people reporting problems are generally not a representative sample of those who installed the beta - people who aren't having problems are less likely to visit a forum to say so. What is probably a more reliable indicator is Youtuber Zollotech's community poll which he runs for every new iOS beta. The poll asks if the new beta has been "great", "terrible", or "okay with some bugs". That poll usually gets thousands of responses within the first few days it's up. If you divide the "terrible" number by ["great" + "okay with some bugs"], you get a rough estimate of the probability you'll be in the "terrible" group if you install the beta. He doesn't post the poll immediately after the new beta drops, since it takes a few days to get a sense of how well it's working. So if you want to use the poll results to decide whether to install the beta, you have to wait until probably Sunday-ish.

Did they get rid of the ability to play 4k videos in the youtube app? I was able to do it in Beta 1 and 2, but haven't been able to in 3 and 4.

with Beta 4 i still have the 4k option iPhone 11 pro max and iPad Pro 2018

So, I deleted the News app, restarted my phone, reinstalled it, and finally got the News+ Audio tab. However, when I was listening to them, the audio kept stopping randomly and a message saying it couldn’t be played would come up. So then, I forced closed the app hoping it would fix the problem. Well now, the audio tab is missing again. Grrr.
