But seriously, I also use a password locker with a password combination that's not that insane, still long enough, and pretty much been ingrained to the point of muscle memory. It's not so hard.

So... gotta ask... :)

How do you unlock your phone to access your password locker so you can access your phone password to then unlock your phone which you'd already unlocked so you could access the password locker? :D

Joking aside - the mask/watch/phone unlock is important functionality for so many people that it's rather surprising that bug got past Apple and into the release version. Apple hopefully realizes they need to push the fix out ASAP for this reason and not lollygag around until a x.1 release.

I am not running a Beta on my 13 Pro Max but I did get a notification last night to install iOS 15 and it resolved the Unlock Apple Watch issue. I assumed this was pushed everyone. I thought it was odd that is was only called iOS 15, no point update.

I was thinking of getting a new phone but this problem would be a pain at work. Will wait to see when this will be fixed.

Yes, that’s Apple’s fault. No way you can have a shorter passcode at all. /s

Some folks have our work email account on our personal phones (and get a stipend), and the Exchange profile can require a passcode of a minimum length.

So it's possible (even if unlikely) that @justperry might actually be unable to have a shorter passcode on any phone attached to that work O365 account.

Right? Even though the Apple Watch unlock is pretty good it doesn’t work maybe 20% of the time for me… having Touch ID as a backup would be great

For me, it fails 20% in ideal conditions. If I'm wearing a hat, the failure rate is at least 2/3rds of the time.

I have a bizarre issue with my apple watch connecting to apple tv to do the fitness+ workouts. Seems to have popped up when I moved to watchOS8. Even tried resetting everything, repaired, reset in home app, etc. I really hope this beta fixes my 'can't connect' issue on the watch. Not sure if it was the beta 1 or watchos8 upgrade that triggered this.

have any of you experienced an issue where the front camera gets really smoothed out when using FaceTime and has this been addressed in iOS 15.1 ?

Or instead of going through the hassle of installing a beta, try the other confirmed solution (did it myself with success), make a fresh backup of your 13 series phone, erase and restore from backup. Don’t even have to unpair your watch.

I believe the issue arose for those restoring/transferring from a back up of their previous phone to their new iPhone 13. Restoring from a backup of the actual 13 fixes the issue.

I set up my phone as a new device, did the same for watch, and I have the bug.

It would be a surprise if Apple pushes 15.0.1 this early with this fix. 15.1 is slated for November right now.

then again, it’s not surprising Apple trying to push update fast right now for iOS 15 because of security issues.
