So... gotta ask... :)

How do you unlock your phone to access your password locker so you can access your phone password to then unlock your phone which you'd already unlocked so you could access the password locker? :D
Don't make me break out the SNL Lockbox videos!!! :p

It would be a surprise if Apple pushes 15.0.1 this early with this fix. 15.1 is slated for November right now.

then again, it’s not surprising Apple trying to push update fast right now for iOS 15 because of security issues.
November? they're going to make people wait 2 months?

My phone will often unlock via watch when I'm simply pulling the phone out of my pocket.
Same here. It has worked extremely well for me, failing maybe 5% of the time, if that. Quite something for a beta.

Of course, that makes it even more painful for me now, as I wait for the public beta release to fix it. These last few days have really clarified how much I relied on it just working.

Yet another royal screw up from Apple’s QC.

Pretty unfortunate they have to go the beta route for this fix rather than just pushing the update.

My understanding is that it affects users who did not setup their device as new (like me).
Didn’t know that.

I mean, how many new iPhone users are buying iPhones on launch day? Haha. Apple can’t even do basic QA, and for what? To be secretive with their own employees about a phone that has only a handful of new features that have all been leaked?

Doesn’t seem to work after 15.1 public bets. Unless I’ve misunderstood something

Installed the latest beta on the Watch and 13 Pro Max, but it still doesn’t work. Le sigh. How do I know I’m running the latest beta?

Edit: learn to read, 0s and 1s

I assume that a patch is probably coming ASAP to address this issue. I doubt they'll wait until 15.1.
and this assumption is based on what? The removed apple watch music browsing functionality before and it took months to reimplement

This mask thing never worked for me cause my hair is also in my forehead. ;(

Less fingerprinting real estate to work with, I guess.

Would have been grand if they could figure out Touch ID on the power button like the iPads…
Except for the fact that most people use cases on their iPhones and many (if not most) cases replace the buttons with metal or silicone buttons.

hopefully not. Apple hopes to have security update 15.0.1 first out, and that one may have the FaceID fix for iPhone 13.

Normally .1 update is about two months after initial OS release, and considering this has SharePlay and other big feature not in initial release, Apple will want to make sure everything is running smoothly before launch.

besides, 15.1 is NOT ready for prime time. Still too many bugs to be released, like iMessages photo bug (which Apple is aware, but taking while to fix)

worse case scenario, mask fix will be on 15.1. Two month isn’t long. And putting in passcode is not that hard. Just minor inconvenience.
