It’s brilliant, quick and easy… the more people know about it the better as by default a lot think you have to do a long painful restore and lose data. This way was made for beta testers to easily jump back/forward or refresh your iOS when in need. Which takes the anxiety out of being on a beta because you have so much confidence with this control.

Glad it all went smoothly buddy.

Some extra personal tips, I always quit out of apps first, and restart the phone and mac, just to be on the super safe side. Doing a full back up to mac should be standard practise also, just incase

Found your method. Looks nice and simple. I read somewhere before that using this method, sometimes iMessage and such can be glitchy. So they recommended wiping the phone after ‘upgrading’ to 15.1.1 ipsw and then restore via iCloud. Have you seen any reason to do wipe and then restore after upgrading 15.1.1?

One advantage of running the latest Monterey beta is that it's so bad, it makes me think this iOS beta is actually ok.

(Plus, as an iPhone 11 user, my auto-brightness still works.)

Personally I have 100% had no issues after. and ive upgraded and downgraded or just reinstalled the IPSW 3 times in this iOS 15 cycle.

ive been on betas since 15. so I cant specifically say in relation to 15.1.1 why id need to change.

Downgrade to iOS 15.1.1 worked, but still had to erase my phone and restore from an iOS 15.1 iCloud backup from the end of September. My Activity app was all borked and wouldn't work. No biggy though. I'm happy to be off iOS 15.2 Beta 3.

Update: Selected the late September 2021 iCloud backup from 15.1, worked like a charm and never lost any data at all. This is a great downgrade method, as others have mentioned. The Pearsey Method. Happily on 15.1.1 w/o the god forsaken AB bug.

Couple of new ones this fine morning …
13 ProMax beta 3

When on Reddit the phone will not go to sleep. The screen remains on. Have tried killing app and relaunching and now trying after a hard reboot.

Interestingly … not … after the hard reboot my weather widget stopped displaying. Had to remove and reapply.

Reddit for me will just freeze. I can force close it. But that’s annoying.

I’m having an iOS 15.2 beta 3 install issue. Downloaded OTA and verifying beta then gets stuck on installing. Have to power off, deleted the OTA beta and tried again. Same issue gets stuck at installing. Anyone know how to get past this issue?

I hard reset same issue. Does anyone know if I install via ipsw will solve this issue?

Only thing I might try but don’t think it will particularly change the out come, but worth a shot, is delete the OTA and the beta profile. Reinstall the profile and try again.

Otherwise IPSW is your only option. Back up, give it a go. Nothing to lose.

What’s your definition of “stuck”?

How is everyone's battery life on this beta?
Better than 15.1, and 15.2 B2. I charge once a day to 100% then unplug. Don’t over night charge.

Charged at 11:30am Tuesday
7.15hrs on screen.
Time of writing got 37% left.

Haven’t seen any battery health drop during the iOS 15 beta train. Normally I was losing 2% religiously every iOS increment, with charging over night - but that was just my phone, it’s different for others. Don’t use auto brightness. 40% indoors, flick it up to 90% outside in the UK. Don’t use optimised charging - because I don’t charge at the same time every day or over night, so no predictable pattern to follow and I don’t want a charge to go to 80%, I want 100% then a shortcut goes off and I unplug.
