I’ve set up the phone today after being on beta.Actually I agree. While I didn't feel like I had "battery issues" with 15.6, today my phone has substantially better battery remaining than usual. Typically after an update an iPhone takes a hit for a little while. Anyway 15.6.1 in fact does seem to be better on battery. At least on day 1 after updating.
Half the battery in just 2h 15min is a good discharging rate? I find it too quickly discharging. At that rate, you’d have just 4 hours an a half out of one charge.I’ve set up the phone today after being on beta. View attachment 2044812
Seems good discharging, no problem. But I miss some new things of iOS 16 😅
Second day of usage, now I am at 27% of battery and 3,53h of on screen time. Is that good with a brand new battery? Check if they are activated in Safari -> Extensions. For many people they got disabled after this update.Hmm, on my original 12.9 iPad Pro, my ad blockers seem not to be working, which is a real pain, as
I hadn’t quite realised how many of my usual sites are infested with ads![]()
I’m wondering what device do you have. Because if you have an iPhone 6S, 7 or even 8, that’s understandable. However, if you have a bigger iPhone… Do you remember the screen-on time you used to have before this update?Second day of usage, now I am at 27% of battery and 3,53h of on screen time. It was 5.6GB coming from iOS 15.6. That’s not “tiny” even if the changes are. It was a full OTA reload.iOS 15.6.1 is a TINY security update. Those who think it will fix any battery issues they may be experiencing are wrong.
Makes sense since iOS does some background indexing in the first hours and that drains the battery. Do you have Bluetooth and WIFI enabled when you're outdoor? It was 5.6GB coming from iOS 15.6. That’s not “tiny” even if the changes are. It was a full OTA reload.
And my battery is all over the place - 100 > 70% yesterday with minimal usage and a 10 minute call.
Then today 100 > 99% in 4 hours.
iPhone 12.

EDIT: okay, you replaced your battery with a non-original battery. Then, I guess you numbers are pretty good. Unofficial batteries usually offer less performance and they degrade quicker than the Apple original parts.
I already "bled" it in - that is, the photos/etc. indexing. It's been five days. After dozens and dozens of iOS upgrades I don't buy this - battery drain issues are nearly instantaneous for me (i.e. 12.4 was crap; 12.4.1 was amazing).Makes sense since iOS does some background indexing in the first hours and that drains the battery. I always put my iPhone SE (2nd gen) iOS 15.2 to low battery, no wifi enabled and bluetooth off.

15.6.1 has much greater drain than 15.6. With nearly identical weekend usage (week-over-week), my 12 Pro is at 70% at the same time of day vs. 88% on 15.6.
Same issue with backup 11 Pro Max. Have not upgraded 12 Mini nor 13 Pro yet.
15.6.1 on 11 Pro Max is infuriating.
There is a cellular radio (signal strength) issue, Wifi is acting weird, and Bluetooth - connection to Sony XM5 - is taking forever.
Which is leading to excess battery drain.
This bug happens to me occasionally. As recently as a few hours ago, actually.
- Fixes an issue that may cause iPhone SE (3rd gen) to unexpectedly shutdown
Well, you can still update to 15.6… Or straight to 15.6.1, your choice.Aww, man. Should have upgraded to 15.5 back when I had the chance. I never read the patch notes.

I initially went to have it checked by a Apple repair shop and according to them it's a going to require a logic board repair.
