Actually I agree. While I didn't feel like I had "battery issues" with 15.6, today my phone has substantially better battery remaining than usual. Typically after an update an iPhone takes a hit for a little while. Anyway 15.6.1 in fact does seem to be better on battery. At least on day 1 after updating.
I’ve set up the phone today after being on beta.

Seems good discharging, no problem. But I miss some new things of iOS 16 😅

Immediately went back to 15.6, I have 2 iPhones and this is horse 💩!!! I am continually asked to sign in with my credentials then I receive a code on the phone that isn’t updated yet, I input that, then it asks me for an old passcode (my passcode has been the same on every single device I have for as long as passcodes have been a thing) tells me it cannot verify and the horse 💩 starts all over again. Went through it 12 times. I’ve had enough. I’ll stay on 15.6 permanently.

Bug Problem stop / start playing music.
iPhone XR, over the air upgrade from 15.6 to 15.6.1, before upgrade wired original apple EarPods playing tidal streaming could be stopped by pressing button on microphone on wire. after upgrade this has changed; pressing button to stop tidal playing but start music app and start playing the "ONLY" permanent U2 album. press again will stop playing music but I have to open the tidal app to start playing again. press button on microphone alone will start Apple Music app. Not happy.

Hmm, on my original 12.9 iPad Pro, my ad blockers seem not to be working, which is a real pain, as
I hadn’t quite realised how many of my usual sites are infested with ads :(

Half the battery in just 2h 15min is a good discharging rate? I find it too quickly discharging. At that rate, you’d have just 4 hours an a half out of one charge.
Second day of usage, now I am at 27% of battery and 3,53h of on screen time. Is that good with a brand new battery? I feel not so impressed

Check if they are activated in Safari -> Extensions. For many people they got disabled after this update.

I’m wondering what device do you have. Because if you have an iPhone 6S, 7 or even 8, that’s understandable. However, if you have a bigger iPhone… Do you remember the screen-on time you used to have before this update?

EDIT: okay, you replaced your battery with a non-original battery. Then, I guess you numbers are pretty good. Unofficial batteries usually offer less performance and they degrade quicker than the Apple original parts.

Does anyone own an iPhone SE (2nd Gen 2020) with iOS 15.6.1? How's the battery life? I'm still on 15.2 :p

iOS 15.6.1 is a TINY security update. Those who think it will fix any battery issues they may be experiencing are wrong.
It was 5.6GB coming from iOS 15.6. That’s not “tiny” even if the changes are. It was a full OTA reload.

And my battery is all over the place - 100 > 70% yesterday with minimal usage and a 10 minute call.
Then today 100 > 99% in 4 hours.

iPhone 12.

Makes sense since iOS does some background indexing in the first hours and that drains the battery. Do you have Bluetooth and WIFI enabled when you're outdoor?

I always put my iPhone SE (2nd gen) iOS 15.2 to low battery, no wifi enabled and bluetooth off.

I’m having an XS.

I already "bled" it in - that is, the photos/etc. indexing. It's been five days. After dozens and dozens of iOS upgrades I don't buy this - battery drain issues are nearly instantaneous for me (i.e. 12.4 was crap; 12.4.1 was amazing).

15.6.1 has much greater drain than 15.6. With nearly identical weekend usage (week-over-week), my 12 Pro is at 70% at the same time of day vs. 88% on 15.6.

Same issue with backup 11 Pro Max. Have not upgraded 12 Mini nor 13 Pro yet.

15.6.1 on 11 Pro Max is infuriating.
There is a cellular radio (signal strength) issue, Wifi is acting weird, and Bluetooth - connection to Sony XM5 - is taking forever.
Which is leading to excess battery drain.

I think I might stay on iOS 15.4.1 forever… do you think iOS 15.6 is better than 15.4.1? Should I update to 15.6 while it’s still signed? Thank you

Thanks for the update :)

I'll just stick with iOS 15.2.

You could try restarting the iPhone, if you haven't already. In my current iOS if WIFI keeps disconnecting or Bluetooth is unreliable I do a reboot does the job.

Any experiences with iPhone SE (3rd gen)? I was wanting to update to the very latest iOS 15 version prior to iOS 16 and was assuming that this may be it.

I’m not touching iOS 16 with a ten foot stick for a long time. I remember how badly I got burned last time they did a big UI redesign (iOS 7). Fool me once…

edit - Currently on 15.4.1

Aww, man. Should have upgraded to 15.5 back when I had the chance. I never read the patch notes.
  • Fixes an issue that may cause iPhone SE (3rd gen) to unexpectedly shutdown
This bug happens to me occasionally. As recently as a few hours ago, actually.

Well, you can still update to 15.6… Or straight to 15.6.1, your choice.

I updated my iPhone 12 Promax to the latest iOS 15 version... and I got Cellular error after the update. Anyone got the same issue? I initially went to have it checked by a Apple repair shop and according to them it's a going to require a logic board repair.

Ever since 15.6 (and 15.6.1 included) my music randomly stops playing after finishing a song. It doesn't always happen, and it doesn't always seem to happen to the same songs either. It's especially bad on my iPhone which has the music saved to the device, but it also happens on my iPad which streams.

I did some Googling before and came up with a suggestion to disable Atmos, disable hi-res, remove all songs, redownload, etc. Unfortunately nothing has worked so far. Is this a bug on Apple's side of things? Do more people experience this? I had no issues before 15.6.

That sounds excessive for an update :/

You could try and reset network settings, reboot iPhone also remove and reinsert the sim card.
