It is, and I think Apple should really look into it. I tried your suggestion and it's still the same. That sounds excessive for an update :/
You could try and reset network settings, reboot iPhone also remove and reinsert the sim card.

Simplified and little research. Open 15.6.1 and 15.4.1 thread in this forum; read and compare the bugs reported by users here. You will notice, whether upgrading is worthy.I think I might stay on iOS 15.4.1 forever… do you think iOS 15.6 is better than 15.4.1? Should I update to 15.6 while it’s still signed? Thank you

battery life on 15.6.1 is awful. 15.4.1 was about 15-20% better for me.I think I might stay on iOS 15.4.1 forever… do you think iOS 15.6 is better than 15.4.1? Should I update to 15.6 while it’s still signed? Thank you
Did you restart the network settings like other user suggested? And if that didn’t work, maybe a clean install restoring the software?battery life on 15.6.1 is awful. 15.4.1 was about 15-20% better for me.
I can say that public beta 6 is way better. Feels very solid battery wise. 15.6.1 allows me to do like 4.5 at max screen time… and sometimes lower.battery life on 15.6.1 is awful. 15.4.1 was about 15-20% better for me.
I would take this with a grain of salt as in my case, this update performs better battery wise than 15.6 . 13 pro maxGeek bench battery test courtesy of iAppleBytes:

Yeah, thank you! I will most likely update my iPhone 8.Upgraded my iPhone SE (3rd Generation) to iOS 15.6.1, up from 15.4.1. I’ve seen no perceptible decrease in battery life over the course of the last few days. Anecdotally, dare I say it’s a little better? Unlikely — that’s probably placebo. But no worse.
My father has the same phone and he says he’s seen no difference.
I hope this is helpful to someone. Cheers!
I have a 13 Pro Max and I thought it was placebo as well but I do believe it’s actually better, although battery life has always been very good.Upgraded my iPhone SE (3rd Generation) to iOS 15.6.1, up from 15.4.1. Yeah, thank you! I will most likely update my iPhone 8.
However, I’m a bit afraid for my iPad Pro. It has an A12X, and the A12 devices aren’t having great battery life with 15.6.1 so I’m not sure what to do.
I think I will wait for the iOS 16 Release Candidate to be released, just in case Apple releases iOS 15.6.2 or even 15.7, and then, regardless of it, I will update all my devices just for security reasons.
Well, thank you, but I don’t think disabling half of the iPhone functionality in order to get a decent battery life is a proper solution.I'm still on the fence with this update, but I managed to ask around on Reddit and get some answers. One of the users updated me with:
To get back my battery life (for now) I did:
I am still testing these changes, but the iPhone 2020 survived the night w/o eating the battery. Running iOS 15.6.1
- Turned off Screen Time
- Switched "Hey Siri" to require button (do not listen)
- Turned off Raise to Wake
- Turned off Notifications for Weather Channel and some other apps.
15.7? Oh dear, another one to have to research and worry about. 😅 Won’t have long to see if any issues crop up because I’d imagine iOS 16 is coming out late next week? I’d imagine they’ll stop signing 15.7 pretty quick like they usually do.Well, thank you, but I don’t think disabling half of the iPhone functionality in order to get a decent battery life is a proper solution.
However, I don’t use Siri, I guess that helps me having a better battery life. But I won’t disable raise to wake, for example, as it is one of the features why I own an iPhone.
I’ve already made a decision: I’m going to update (actually I’m making a clean install) of iOS 15.6.1 on my iPhone 8. Then, I’ll wait to iPadOS 15.7 to be released Monday, and update my iPad.

That was predictable, then 15.7 is the only way to downgradeiOS 15.6.1 no longer signed.
Apple today stopped signing iOS 15.6.1, that means this version can no longer be installed or used to downgrade.
iOS 15.7, here we go.
So I noticed you across the bar and I was wondering.....how's the performance of iOS 15.7 going? 😛iOS 15.6.1 no longer signed.

Well, haven‘t got much time to format my devices yet, but soon I will format my mac with the latest macOS, I will restore my iPhone 8 with iOS 15.7, and I will update -throughout my mac- my iPad Pro to iPadOS 15.7So I noticed you across the bar and I was wondering.....how's the performance of iOS 15.7 going? 😛
