Same here. It is extremely unreliable at this point. I was running errands and saw that I had missed too notifications about leaving them behind. I panicked and reached for my pocket. They were in there the whole time.
As befitting the season, first Trick then Treat! 🎃

FindMy appears to be a bit buggy, (unless 15.0.2 update resolves problems.) Just this morning, I was driving to work, wearing my iPod Pro's, with my iPhone (12 Pro Max) mounted to my dashboard. While driving, Siri suddenly announced, through my iPod Pro's, that I had left my iPod Pro's behind, along the highway. Later, when I arrived at my office, I received a notice that I had left my home keys behind.(Air tag attached). The keys were in my pocket, about 6" away from my phone, in a belt holster.

For the first time this morning as I left my house, I got a warning that I had left my iPad behind. I don't remember ever setting that up. And as I said, I'd never seen that warning before. So while many people here can't seem to get the function to work for their AirPods, my iPad seems to have somehow spontaneously turned the feature on.

Does this update bring some of the rich bass back to the AirPod pros (had it for awhile and sounds hollow again).

Mine have the latest firmware and I have iOS 15.0.2 and yet when I go to the Find My app the section referenced in this article about notifying when left behind is disabled and in gray text it says "Not supported". Weird. I checked my location privacy settings and Find My has access to my location while using the app. I wonder if there is something else that needs access to my location always.

It is. This article is kinda pointless. I had to turn it off because it was obnoxious getting an alert on my commute to work that I left my pros and max at home. Like shouldn't it learn that? The feature needs a lot of work.
You have to add them to the excluded list. Article says added by default but mine wasn’t.

I have issue on iPhone 8 Plus running iOS 15.0.2, Airpods Pro with firmware 4A400. It is showing as 'not supported' next to Notify When Left Behind.

I have an Airtag on my keys and wallet and I often leave the house for a walk with my dog and I was constantly getting the "you left behind" notification. Had to turn it off
Exclude your home as a left behind location?

On the other hand exclude from home was the default settings for APP, whereas that's exactly where I'd like to know if I left them behind as I go out somewhere.

This feature does not work correctly or I don't understand how it works. Three times, and as recently as this morning, I got a notificaton that I left the APPs behind at home or in my office. However, the entire time they were in my pocket in the car. I'm not sure what is wrong but it's clearly not working correctly.
We really need to stop abbreviating things that don’t need to be abbreviated. Seriously. You typed everything else out, how much harder is it to actually type AirPods Pro? And it’s not just you, so don’t feel attack. Many people on this forum do it and I don’t understand why.

Thank you!! I had no idea what in the hell APPs meant. Haha so true.

Didn’t even know you could do that or how. That’s kinda my point. Apple didn’t make this very user friendly.

Sadly it’s another failed feature of ios15. The functionality is enabled on my phone but high inaccurate and I can’t turn it off (the switch is greyed out in FindMy).

Of course, these alerts depend on you not leaving your iPhone behind (there's currently no equivalent separation alert available on Apple Watch for this scenario), so that's the device you won't want to forget, wherever it is you go
I get notification on my watch if I leave my phone behind , so this isn’t accurate

Great but I’ve never been somewhere and not used my pockets to store AirPods. I’d find it more useful if it could track my case with AirPods Pro inside - like with direction arrows, to show where it is exactly. I have iPhone 12 with up to date software and tried this yesterday but best I could get I think was it playing a sound too weak to hear. (There was a black screen on my phone trying to load with a ‘particle’ graphic - I wonder if this would have given me the direction arrows if it loaded properly).

What’s missing for me is an alert for leaving your charging case behind, or at least the ability to locate a lost charging case. I lost mine in a park (it slipped out of the silicon case dangling for the last time from my belt loop) while hiking with my dogs, and didn’t notice until I got home, a mile away from the park. Find My reassured me that I still had my pro buds, but there was no info about the charging case.
Same I bought an Amazon knockoff case which worked fine until I found original case where it had fallen at home.

It’s a great idea but deffo needs some work. AirPods Pro were on my person and felt my phone vibrate as I headed off home after work. Got home & checked my notifications and said I’d left them behind at work. No I hadn’t 😂

Ugh.... so the only use case I've been waiting for, having my Apple Watch alert me when I walk away from my iPhone, and that's what it specifically cannot do after all these years ☹️
