Missing Feature: Family Sharing

Seriously, doesnt anyone at Apple have a family? If they offer $10/mo for 2TB of family shared data then it should include an OPTION for a family bucket of full-res photos so that parents can choose to combine all/some of their library.
I agree current shared albums solution is too limited. For example (AFAIK) face recognition doesn’t identify people in shared album photos.

Not sure if automatic sharing of all/ some of a library is a feature I’d personally like, but maybe you can configure an automation for that?

iOS 14.x really. There's almost nothing "new" in it. Just incremental updates to existing features. Not that that's a bad thing per se, but please let's not pretend this is some revolution or something.

Spotlight should be able to search text in photos
It can, and it’s pretty speedy as well:

Is there an OFF switch for memories? That would be the only improvement I need for that feature.
Don’t go looking for them in the For You tab. It’s not like they’re in your face.

But they could do with a general privacy option to not scan and analyse your photos for content like People, Memories and Text. Even if everything happens locally.

Are any of the features discussed exclusive to the iOS version of Photos? How much of the new functionality is also in the macOS 12 Monterey version of Photos?

But we still can’t copy and paste adjustments between photos?

Do Apple engineers not adjust their photos? Because I can’t tell you how much time I waste trying to replicate the same adjustments between multiple photos. I can do this in Pixelmator Photo but this very basic functionality needs to finally be built-in like it has been in Mac versions going back to early versions of iPhoto. Heck I think you could even do that when we had iPhoto on iOS.

Using "Edit" then "..." in Photos you can access PS Express (Photoshop Express) "My Looks" to apply the same edits to a picture.

Ok one thing for sure is my elderly parents and anyone I know that’s not tech savvy is going to absolutely HATE the new Safari. It is wildly different, and getting to bookmarks is a freaking chore. Apple is either going to have to rethink the interface or bare minimum give people the option to go back to the old layout if they want to. I am dreading the phone calls I’m going to have over this, frankly.

Agreed, however they mentioned that images received via iMessage can get automatically added to your library or something like that during the keynote.

I don’t get it yet, will all text in images be indexed and then searchable ACROSS all images by spotlight or can one only search in the currently opened image?

Existing devices would have the data already on them.

This just means that devices that have been erased or are being setup new will pull in initial data faster. Not that it has to be a literal brand new device.
Thanks - that part of the article could have been better explained.

You don't even have to use iMessage. You can just use sharing photo function right in Photo app.

No they have dogs and cats. So now we can have pet identities and track them in our photos.

As always , Apple is pretty bad when it comes to “text recognition” , live text is very-very bad compared to google’s , and Spotlight should be able to search text in photos.
Apple’s text recognition was always very very bad , in notes when you scanned a document, not even half of the text is recognized, compared to the excellent job Google Keep is doing.
So no improvement in iOS 15.
Hmmm....well you could also just watch tons of YouTube videos showing this feature and it seems pretty great. Google is ahead but the apple version seems mature.
